Maxidex eye drops - is an anti-inflammatory corticosteroid preparation that is used in ophthalmic practice.
Has a pronounced anti-inflammatory, antiallergic and desensitizing effect. Dexamethasone actively suppresses inflammatory processes, inhibiting eosinophilic ejection of inflammatory mediators, migration of mast cells and decreasing capillary permeability.
The preparation does not have mineralocorticoid activity.
When using preparations containing GCS, the intraocular pressure should be measured regularly for more than 10 days.
The preparation is intended for topical use only (not for injection).
During treatment it is not recommended to wear contact lenses.
Avoid touching the tip of the dropper to any surfaces to avoid microbial contamination of the contents of the vial.
Before use, shake the contents of the vial.
At present, safety and efficacy of the preparation in children have not been established.
The preparation is instilled in 1-2 drops in the conjunctival sac of the affected eye (or eyes) every 3-6 hours.
