    Indications

    Chronic venous insufficiency: edema; cramps of the calf muscles; itching, as well as pain and a feeling of heaviness in the legs; phlebeurysm. post-thrombotic syndrome. trophic changes in the veins of the lower extremities, such as leg ulcers. haemorrhoids. prevention and treatment of post-traumatic and postoperative edema and hematomas.

    Application

    It is recommended to take 12-15 drops 3 times a day before meals, with a small amount of liquid. the course of treatment is from 2 weeks to 2-3 months.
    Due to the possible presence of a sediment of plant origin, it is recommended to shake the preparation before use.

    Contraindications

    Hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation. kidney failure, allergic diseases.

    Side effects

    From the side of the cardiovascular system: tachycardia, accelerated heartbeat, arterial hypotension.
    From the nervous system: headache, dizziness.
    From the digestive tract: dyspepsia, pain in the epigastric region, nausea, diarrhea, vomiting.
    From the immune system: hypersensitivity reactions, including urticaria, rash, itching, feeling of heat, angioedema, shock.
    In the case of the use of the preparation in high doses, nephrotoxic reactions, thrombosis are possible.

    special instructions

    In the event of unusual symptoms in the legs (swelling, discoloration of the skin, feeling of tension or heat) or pain, stop using the preparation and consult a doctor, as this may indicate serious medical complications (thrombosis of the veins of the legs). it is imperative to follow the non-invasive methods of treatment prescribed by the doctor (applying compresses, wearing supportive elastic stockings, dousing with cold water).
    The preparation contains a small amount of ethanol (less than 100 mg/dose).
    The preparation contains lactose. If intolerance to some sugars is established, then a doctor's consultation is necessary before using the preparation.
    When using the preparation, kidney function should be monitored.
    The use of thiamine in high doses can distort the results when determining theophylline in blood plasma by the spectrophotometric method and urobilinogen using the Ehrlich reagent.
    Use during pregnancy or lactation. The preparation is not recommended for use during pregnancy and lactation due to insufficient data on the safety of its use in this category of patients.
    The ability to influence the reaction rate when driving vehicles or working with other mechanisms. Does not affect.

    Interactions

    The preparation  may enhance the effect of antithrombotic agents. cephalosporin antibiotics increase the concentration of free escin in the blood and the risk of side effects. simultaneous use of the preparation with aminoglycoside antibiotics should be avoided due to the increased toxic effect of aminoglycosides on the kidneys.
    Thiosemicarbazone and 5-fluorouracil, as well as simultaneous infusion of solutions containing sulfites, inhibit the activity of thiamine.

    Overdose

    No cases of preparation overdose have been reported. possible increased side effects. symptoms of poisoning observed after taking a large amount of horse chestnut fruit extract: a feeling of anxiety, severe diarrhea, vomiting, mydriasis, drowsiness, delirium, death is possible as a result of respiratory paralysis after 24-48 hours.
    Treatment: symptomatic. If a large amount of horse chestnut fruit extract has been taken and there is no vomiting, gastric lavage (for example, 0.02% solution of potassium permanganate), activated charcoal is recommended.
