Alax is a herbal medicinal product for short-term use in occasional constipation. Intended for adults and adolescents over 12 years of age.
Alax is a product in the form of sugar-coated tablets containing dried, powdered aloe leaf juice (Aloe capensis) and dry extract of buckthorn bark (Frangulae corticis extractum siccum). Due to the content of anthranoid compounds, the preparation has a mild laxative effect. The mechanism of action of the preparation is to stimulate the peristaltic movements of the large intestine and inhibit the reabsorption of water from the intestine. This, in turn, leads to an acceleration of the intestinal transit and the relaxation of the stools. The laxative effect usually occurs 8 to 12 hours after dosing.
Dried, powdered aloe leaf juice (Aloe capensis) with anthranoid content in terms of aloin 18% - 35 mg; dry extract from buckthorn bark (Frangulae corticis extractum siccum, DER 5-8: 1, extractant: methanol) with anthranoid compounds converted to aloin 15% - 42 mg. One tablet contains 10-15 mg of anthranoid compounds as aloin.
