Allegra is a medicinal product used in adults and children aged 12 years and older to treat the symptoms of hay fever.
The active substance is: fexofenadine hydrochloride.
1 tablet contains 120 mg of fexofenadine hydrochloride.
The other ingredients are: tablet core composition: croscarmellose sodium, pregelatinized corn starch, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate. Coating composition: hypromellose E-15, hypromellose E-5, povidone K30, titanium dioxide (E171), colloidal anhydrous silica, macrogol 400, red iron oxide (E172) and yellow iron oxide (E172).
Always use this medicine exactly as described in the patient information leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist.
Adults and children aged 12 years and over: 1 tablet daily.
Take the tablet orally, before a meal, with water.
The medicine is indicated for the treatment of symptoms of hay fever (seasonal allergic rhinitis): sneezing, itchy nose, nasal congestion, runny nose, itchy, red, watery eyes.
If the patient is allergic to fexofenadine hydrochloride or any of the other ingredients.
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
• Common side effects (occurring in less than 1 in 10 but more than 1 in 100 patients): headache, dizziness, drowsiness, nausea.
• Uncommon side effects (occurring in less than 1 in 100 but more than 1 in 1,000 patients): tiredness/sleepiness.
• Unknown frequency: difficulty falling asleep, sleep disorders, nervousness, rapid or irregular heartbeat, skin rash, itching, diarrhea, hives, severe allergic reactions.
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Allegra.
• If you have kidney or liver problems.
• If you have or have had a circulatory disease, as this medicine may cause rapid or irregular heartbeat.
Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
Store at room temperature.
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or might take any other medicines.
Taking antacids containing aluminum and magnesium may affect the effect of Allegra by reducing the amount of the preparation absorbed.
For this reason, it is recommended to leave about 2 hours between taking the above-mentioned antacids and taking Allegra.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
Pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers should consult a doctor or pharmacist before using the preparation.
Allegra should not be used during pregnancy unless absolutely necessary.
