    Product description 

    Apitussic is a syrup intended for children and adults. It has an expectorant effect and relaxes the secretion in the bronchial tree. It reduces the viscosity of mucus and facilitates its movement in the bronchi by stimulating the activity of cilia in the ciliate epithelium.
    The content of pine herbal honey enhances the expectorant effect of the syrup.
    The use of the syrup does not cause disturbances in the composition of the gastrointestinal microflora.

    Pregnancy

    Ask your doctor for advice before taking any medicine.

    Dosage

    Apitussic should be used in accordance with the dosage presented in this leaflet or according to the doctor's instructions. Unless your doctor tells you otherwise, the preparation should be used as follows:
    - children over 6 years of age: 5 ml (1 teaspoon) 3 or 4 times a day;
    - older children and adolescents: 10 ml (2 teaspoons) 3 or 4 times a day;
    - adults: 10 ml (1 tablespoon) 3 or 4 times a day.
    If you have the impression that the effect of Apitussic is too strong or too weak, consult your doctor.

    Side effects

    No significant side effects were observed.
    There were isolated cases of a laxative effect.
    There is a possibility of hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation.

    Warnings and Precautions

    The preparation contains sugar (sucrose), so caution should be exercised in patients with diabetes,
    If the patient has been diagnosed with an intolerance to some sugars, the patient should consult a doctor before taking the preparation.
    Avoid using the preparation in people with active peptic ulcer disease - the preparation may aggravate symptoms.
    Patients who have noticed disturbing symptoms (e.g. laxative effects) after use, should discontinue Apitussic and contact their doctor.
    During treatment and within 24 hours of the last administration, guaiacol metabolites present in the urine may alter biochemical test results, especially the results of hydroxyindole acetic acid (5-HIAA) and vanillinmandelic acid.
