    Product description

    Augmentin powder for oral suspension is intended for the treatment of the following infections:
    • acute bacterial sinusitis (confirmed);
    • acute otitis media;
    • exacerbation of chronic bronchitis was confirmed;
    • community-acquired pneumonia;
    • cystitis;
    • pyelonephritis;
    • infections of the skin and soft tissues, incl. cellulite, animal bites, severe dentoalveolar abscesses with widespread cellulite;
    • infections of bones and joints, incl. osteomyelitis.

    Composition

    Active ingredients: amoxicillin, clavulanic acid;
    5 ml of suspension contain amoxicillin (in the form of amoxicillin trihydrate) 400 mg of clavulanic acid (in the form of potassium clavulanate) 57 mg;
    Excipients: xanthan gum, aspartame (E 951), succinic acid, colloidal silicon dioxide, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, dry orange flavors (1 and 2), dry raspberry flavor, dry "Molasses" flavor, silicon dioxide.

    Contraindications

    Hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation, to any antibacterial agents of the penicillin group.
    A history of severe hypersensitivity reactions (including anaphylaxis) associated with the use of other beta-lactam agents (including cephalosporins, carbapenems or monobactams).
    A history of jaundice or liver dysfunction associated with the use of amoxicillin / clavulanate.

    Mode of application

    The preparation is intended for oral administration.
    The preparation should be taken with meals to minimize potential gastrointestinal intolerance.
    Therapy can be started parenterally, according to the instructions for use of the injectable form of Augmentin, and continued with the preparation for oral administration.

    The use of the preparation during pregnancy should be avoided, unless the doctor considers it necessary.
    Children
    Applied to children aged 2 months. Children weighing more than 40 kg are prescribed in a different dosage form.

    Overdose

    Symptoms Symptoms of gastrointestinal disorders and fluid and electrolyte imbalances may occur. Crystalluria was observed associated with amoxicillin, which in some cases led to renal failure.
    In patients with impaired renal function and in patients taking high doses of the preparation, seizures may occur.
    Amoxicillin sediments have been reported in bladder catheters, predominantly after high-dose administration. The patency of the catheters should be checked regularly.
    Treatment. The gastrointestinal tract can be treated symptomatically by paying attention to fluid / electrolyte balance.
    Amoxicillin / clavulanic acid can be removed from the bloodstream by hemodialysis.
    Adverse Reactions
    The most frequently reported adverse preparation reactions (ADs) were diarrhea, nausea and vomiting.

    Interaction

    Probenecid, phenylbutazone, oxyphenbutazone, to a lesser extent - acetylsalicylic acid and sulfinpyrazone reduce renal tubular secretion of amoxicillin, which can lead to an increase in its level in blood plasma and prolongation of action. Simultaneous use with amoxicillin is not recommended.
    Allopurinol. Concomitant use with amoxicillin may increase the likelihood of skin allergic reactions.
    Tetracycline Tetracycline and other preparations that have a bacteriostatic effect (macrolides, chloramphenicol) can neutralize the bactericidal effect of amoxicillin.

    Storage conditions

    Store original packaging at temperatures below 25 ° C in a dry place.
    Store the prepared suspension in a refrigerator at a temperature of 2 to 8 ° C for 7 days.
    Keep out of the reach of children.
    Shelf life is 2 years.
