    Indications.

    - monotherapy for idiopathic parkinsonism;
    - adjuvant therapy with the use of dopamine agonists;
    - adjuvant therapy with levodopa with fluctuations in the final dose.

    Contraindications.

    Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any other component of the preparation.
    Concomitant therapy with other MAO inhibitors (including preparations and herbal preparations, for example, containing St. John's wort) or pethidine (the interval between the abolition of rasagiline and the start of therapy with these preparations should be at least 14 days).
    Severe liver failure.

    Compound

    active ingredient: rasagiline;
    1 tablet contains rasagiline 1 mg (as rasagiline mesylate)
    Excipients: corn starch, colloidal silicon dioxide, corn starch, stearic acid, talc, mannitol (E 421).

    Method of application and dose.

    Rasagiline is administered orally at a dose of 1 mg 1 time per day.
    Adjuvant therapy with dopamine agonists
    Rasagiline is administered orally at a dose of 1 mg 1 time per day.
    Adjuvant therapy with levodopa
    Rasagiline is administered orally at a dose of 1 mg 1 time per day.
    The preparation can be used regardless of the meal.
    Elderly patients
    For elderly patients, dose adjustment is not required.
    Patients with impaired liver function
    Rasagiline should be avoided in patients with moderate hepatic impairment and caution should be initiated in patients with mild hepatic impairment. In the event of progression of mild to moderate hepatic insufficiency, treatment with rasagiline should be discontinued.
    Patients with impaired renal function
    For patients with impaired renal function, dose adjustment is not required.
    Children.
    Due to insufficient data on the use of the preparation, children are not recommended to use Azilect in this category of patients.
