    Product description

    Azithromycin tablets are indicated for infections caused by microorganisms sensitive to azithromycin:
    • ENT organs (bacterial pharyngitis / tonsillitis, sinusitis, otitis media).
    • Respiratory tract infections (bacterial bronchitis, community-acquired pneumonia).
    • Skin and soft tissue infections erythema migrans (initial stage of Lyme disease), impetigo, secondary pyodermatoses, acne vulgaris of moderate severity.
    • Sexually Transmitted Infections: Uncomplicated genital infections caused by Chlamydia trachomatis.

    Storage

    Active substance: azithromycin.
    1 film-coated tablet contains azithromycin equivalent to 500 mg of anhydrous azithromycin.
    Excipients: microcrystalline cellulose, calcium hydrogen phosphate, corn starch, povidone, magnesium stearate, talc, colloidal silicon dioxide, sodium lauryl sulfate, sodium starch (type A).

    Contraindication

    Hypersensitivity to azithromycin or other macrolide and ketolide antibiotics and auxiliary substances of the preparation. Due to the theoretical possibility of ergotism, azithromycin should not be prescribed simultaneously with ergot derivatives.

    Application method

    Adults and children weighing more than 45 kg. Azithromycin must be taken 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal, as simultaneous intake with food disrupts its absorption. The preparation is taken once a day. Swallow the tablets without chewing.

    The preparation should be used in children with a body weight ≥ 45 kg. Children with body weight ≤ 45 kg should be prescribed azithromycin in a different dosage form, such as a suspension.

    Overdose

    The experience of clinical use of azithromycin shows that the side effects that develop when taking higher than recommended doses of the preparation are similar to those observed when using usual therapeutic doses. Typical symptoms of overdose: reversible hearing loss, pronounced nausea, vomiting, diarrhea.
    In case of overdose, it is necessary to take activated charcoal and carry out symptomatic therapy aimed at supporting the body's vital functions.

    Visual disorders.
    Lymphocytopenia.
    Reducing the amount of bicarbonate in the blood.
    Diarrhea, abdominal pain, nausea, flatulence, gastrointestinal discomfort, frequent loose stools.

    Interaction

    Azithromycin should be administered with caution to patients with other medications that may prolong the QT interval.
