    Indication

    Treatment of infectious diseases caused by pathogens sensitive to the preparation:

    • infections of ENT organs, upper respiratory tract (sinusitis, otitis media, bacterial pharyngitis, tonsillitis);
    • lower respiratory tract infections (bacterial bronchitis, pneumonia);
    • scarlet fever;
    • infections of the skin and soft tissues (besichha, impetigo, secondary pyodermatoses);
    • infections of the urogenital tract (gonorrheal and non-gonorrheal urethritis and/or cervicitis);
    • stomach and duodenal infections caused by Helicobacter pylori (in complex therapy);
    • Lyme disease (borreliosis) in the initial stage.

    Storage

    active substance: azithromycin;
    1 capsule contains azithromycin, in the form of azithromycin dihydrate (calculated as 100% anhydrous substance) - 250 mg;
    auxiliary substances: microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, sodium lauryl sulfate; the composition of the capsule includes: yellow sunset FCF (E 110), quinoline yellow (E 104), titanium dioxide (E 171), gelatin.

    Application

    Before prescribing the preparation, it is desirable to determine the sensitivity of the microflora that caused the disease. Azithromycin-BHFZ should be taken 1 time a day 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal, as simultaneous intake with food reduces the absorption of azithromycin.
    Adults and children over 14 years of age with respiratory tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections are prescribed 500 mg once on the first day, and 250 mg per day from the 2nd to the 5th day; or 500 mg once a day for 3 days (course dose - 1.5 g).
    For acute infections of the urogenital tract, a single dose of 1 g (4 capsules) is prescribed.
    For the treatment of the initial stage of Lyme disease (chronic migratory erythema), 1 g (4 capsules) is prescribed once on the first day and 500 mg daily from 2 to 5 days (course dose - 3 g).
    For stomach and duodenal infections caused by Helicobacter pylori - 1 g (4 capsules) per day once for 3 days.

    Contraindication

    Hypersensitivity to azithromycin and other components of the preparation; increased sensitivity to antibiotics of the macrolide group; children's age up to 14 years.

    Side effects

    From the gastrointestinal tract: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, decreased appetite, gastritis, reversible moderate increase in the activity of liver transaminases, cholestatic jaundice, pseudomembranous colitis.
    From the urinary system: nephritis.
    From the reproductive system: vaginal candidiasis.
    From the side of the cardiovascular system: palpitations, pain in the chest.
    Allergic reactions: skin rashes, Quincke's edema, urticaria, conjunctivitis.
    Dermatological reactions: photosensitization, itching.
    From the laboratory indicators: neutrophilia, eosinophilia. The changed indicators return to normal 2-3 weeks after the end of treatment.

    Special instructions

    It should be used with caution in patients with severe liver or kidney dysfunction, as well as in patients with heart rhythm disorders (arrhythmias and prolongation of the q-t interval on the ECG).
    Ethanol significantly reduces the absorption of azithromycin, therefore, during treatment with the preparation, you should refrain from drinking alcoholic beverages.
    If the time of taking the preparation was missed, the missed dose should be taken as early as possible, and the next dose should be taken at an interval of 24 hours.
    In the elderly and patients with impaired kidney function, there is no need to adjust doses.
    Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding. The use of the preparation during pregnancy is justified only if the expected benefit to the mother exceeds the potential risk to the fetus.
    If the preparation is used by women who are breastfeeding, breastfeeding should be stopped.
    Children. Azithromycin-BHFZ in the form of capsules is not recommended for children under 14 years of age.
    The ability to influence the speed of reaction when driving vehicles or other mechanisms. The preparation does not affect the speed of reaction when driving a motor vehicle or other mechanisms.

    Interactions

    Antacids (containing calcium, aluminum, magnesium) slow down the absorption of azithromycin, so it is necessary to observe a 2-hour interval between taking azithromycin-BHFZ and these preparations.
    Azithromycin, unlike other macrolide antibiotics, does not bind to isoenzymes of the cytochrome P450 system, so there is no interaction with theophylline, terfenadine, carbamazepine, triazolam, digoxin.
    If simultaneous use with warfarin is necessary, careful monitoring of prothrombin time is recommended.
    When taken simultaneously with ergotamine and dihydroergotamine, a manifestation of their toxic effect is possible (severe peripheral spasm of blood vessels, dysesthesia). The use of this combination is contraindicated.
    Lincosamides reduce, and tetracycline and chloramphenicol increase the effectiveness of azithromycin.

    Overdose

    Manifested by nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, temporary hearing loss. treatment is symptomatic.
