Infectious-inflammatory diseases caused by pathogens sensitive to the preparation:
The preparation is taken orally once a day, at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal. If a dose is missed, the missed dose should be taken as soon as possible, and the next dose should be taken 24 hours later.
For adults and children with a body weight of more than 45 kg: for infections of the upper and lower respiratory tract, skin and soft tissues (with the exception of chronic migratory erythema): 500 mg 1 time per day for 3 days.
With chronic migratory erythema: once a day for 5 days - 1 g on the 1st day, then 500 mg from the 2nd to the 5th day of treatment.
For genital infections: once every 1 year.
Children. It is recommended to prescribe azithromycin in other dosage forms to children under 6 years of age. The drug is prescribed to children aged 6 years and older, they can swallow a capsule. Children with a body weight of more than 45 kg should be prescribed doses as for adults.
1 capsule contains 500 mg of 100% azithromycin;
excipients: lactose, sodium lauryl sulfate, magnesium stearate.
From the side of the digestive system: nausea, diarrhea, abdominal pain are possible; rarely - vomiting, flatulence, transient increase in the activity of liver enzymes.
Skin rash, cholestatic jaundice, headache, drowsiness, nephritis, vaginitis, neutropenia or neutrophilia, photosensitization, eosinophilia may occur. In children - excitement, insomnia, conjunctivitis, hyperkinesia.
Increased sensitivity to antibiotics of the macrolide group.
Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, temporary hearing loss. The therapy is symptomatic.
With caution, the preparation is prescribed to patients with impaired liver and / or kidney function.
During pregnancy and lactation, the preparation is prescribed only if the expected benefit to the mother exceeds the potential risk to the fetus or child.
This medicinal form (capsules) is not indicated for use in children under 6 years of age.
Interaction with other medicinal products
Antacids containing magnesium or aluminum hydroxide reduce the absorption of Azithromycin-Health. Therefore, it is recommended to observe a break of at least 2 hours between taking azithromycin and antacid preparations.
Azithromycin does not bind to the enzymes of the cytochrome P450 complex, so it does not interact with oral anticoagulants, carbamazepine, diphenine, digoxin, cyclosporine, ergotamine, but caution should be observed when using them simultaneously.
Store in a dry place protected from light at a temperature of 15°С to 25°С. Keep out of the reach of children. Shelf life - 2 years.
