Description
Indications
Prevention and symptomatic treatment of chronic obstructive airway disorders: allergic and non-allergic (endogenous) bronchial asthma, exercise-induced asthma, and chronic obstructive bronchitis with or without emphysema; preparation for "opening the lungs" and support for aerosol therapy with corticosteroids, mucolytics, saline, cromoglycic acid, and antibiotics.
With prolonged therapy, it is necessary to prescribe concomitant anti-inflammatory therapy.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to fenoterol hydrobromide or to atropine-like substances or any of the excipients of this preparation.
Hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy and tachyarrhythmia.
Compound
active ingredients: ipratropium bromide, fenoterol hydrobromide; 1 dose contains ipratropium bromide 21 mcg, which is equivalent to ipratropium bromide anhydrous 20 mcg; fenoterol hydrobromide 50 mcg; other ingredients: propellant: 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane (HFA 134a), anhydrous citric acid, purified water, anhydrous ethanol.
Dosage and administration
The dose should be selected depending on the nature and severity of the disease. For adults and children over 6 years of age, the following dosage regimens are recommended.
For the relief of an acute attack of bronchospasm and shortness of breath, inhalation of a dose of 100 μg of fenoterol hydrobromide and 40 μg of ipratropium bromide (2 inhalations) is recommended. In general, with an acute attack of shortness of breath, 1 inhalation is enough to quickly relieve breathing. If after 5 minutes breathing does not improve significantly after using 1-2 inhalations, you can do 1-2 additional inhalations. If there is no effect after 4 inhalations, it may be necessary to carry out additional measures. In such cases, the patient should immediately consult a doctor.
If it is deemed necessary to use BERODUAL N for long-term treatment, the recommended dose is 1-2 inhalations 3-4 times a day. For the treatment of asthma, BERODUAL N metered-dose aerosol should be used only when necessary. In general, the timing and dose of each inhalation should be determined by symptoms. There should be an interval of at least 3 hours between inhalations. The total daily dose should not exceed 12 inhalations, as the highest dose does not add overall therapeutic benefit, but may increase the likelihood of potentially severe adverse effects.
To prevent an exercise-induced asthma attack or expected exposure to an allergen, 2 inhalations are used, if possible, 10-15 minutes before the incident.
Patients should be instructed on the correct use of the metered-dose aerosol to ensure successful treatment (see instructions for use).
application order.
Proper use of the metered dose aerosol is important to ensure successful treatment. Patients should be instructed on the correct use of the metered-dose aerosol. During inhalation, the arrow on the cartridge points straight up and the mouthpiece points down, regardless of the position for inhalation. Apply whenever possible while sitting or standing.
Before using the metered-dose aerosol for the first time, remove the protective cap and press the valve twice.
Before each use of a metered-dose aerosol, you should:
1. Remove the protective cap.
If the metered-dose aerosol can has not been used for more than 3 days, press the valve once before use
2. Exhale deeply.
3. While holding the inhaler, cover the mouthpiece with your lips. The arrow on the balance should be turned up, and the mouthpiece - down.
4. Inhale deeply, at the same time press the bottom of the can until 1 (one) measured dose is released. Hold your breath for a few seconds, remove the mouthpiece from your mouth and exhale slowly.
5. After use, put on the protective cap.
Patients should be instructed in the proper use of the metered spray. If the aerosol can is not used for more than 3 days, the valve should be pressed once before use. Avoid getting the spray in the eye. BERODUAL H dosed aerosol should be used in children only on the advice of a doctor and under adult supervision.
Clean the inhaler at least once a week. It is important to keep the inhaler mouthpiece clean to ensure that the product does not thicken and nothing prevents the aerosol from leaking. To clean the inhaler, first remove the dust cap and disconnect the syringe from the inhaler. Rinse the inhaler with water until the thickened product and / or dirt is completely washed away.
After cleaning, shake the inhaler and allow it to air dry without using any heating system. When the mouthpiece is dry, attach the spray can and the dust cap (Fig. 4).
WARNING: the mouthpiece is designed specifically for dosing aerosol Berodual N.
The mouthpiece should not be used with any other metered spray. BERODUAL H may only be used with a specially designed mouthpiece. The contents of the canister are under pressure. The canister must not be opened by force.
The spray is opaque. Therefore, it is impossible to see when it is empty. The aerosol can should provide 200 doses. When all these doses have been used, some liquid may remain in the syringe. However, this canister must be replaced, otherwise it is not possible to obtain the exact amount of the preparation.
The presence of the preparation in the aerosol can can be checked as follows:
• after shaking the can, check for liquid;
• Detach the plastic mouthpiece from the canister and place the canister in a container of water. The content of the aerosol can can be estimated by its position in the water (see Fig. 5).
Any unused product or waste material should be disposed of.
Children.
Use in children over 6 years of age as prescribed by a physician and under adult supervision.
