Betaclav powder for oral suspension is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections in adults and children caused by microorganisms sensitive to the preparation:
Active ingredients: amoxicillin, clavulanic acid;
Hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation, to any preparation from the group of penicillin, cephalosporins, and other b lactam antibiotics.
Jaundice or liver dysfunction due to a history of amoxicillin and clavulanic acid.
Betaclav® is intended for oral administration.
The preparation is taken at the beginning of a meal to minimize potential gastrointestinal intolerance.
Pregnant
The use of the preparation during pregnancy should be avoided, unless the benefits of its use outweigh the potential risk.
Children
Applied to children from 2 months.
Drivers
Adverse reactions (eg allergic reactions, dizziness, convulsions) may occur that may affect the ability to drive vehicles or work with other automated systems.
Symptoms Adverse reactions from the digestive tract and disturbances in water and electrolyte balance may occur. Amoxicillin-induced crystalluria has been noted, leading in some cases to renal failure.
In patients with impaired renal function or in those receiving high doses, convulsions may occur.
Treatment. Symptomatic, correction of water and electrolyte balance. The preparation can be removed from the circulation by hemodialysis.
The most common side effects are diarrhea, nausea and vomiting.
It is not recommended to use probenecid at the same time. Probenecid reduces the tubular secretion of amoxicillin. The simultaneous use of Betaclav can lead to an increase in blood levels of amoxicillin for a long time, but not clavulanic acid.
The simultaneous use of allopurinol during treatment with amoxicillin increases the likelihood of allergic skin reactions. There are no data regarding the simultaneous use of Betaclav and allopurinol.
Like other antibiotics, Betaclava can affect the intestinal flora, which leads to a decrease in estrogen reabsorption and a decrease in the effectiveness of combined oral contraceptives.
