    Product description

    Bronchostop Duo for cough is a traditional herbal medicinal product used to stimulate expectoration of the residual thick mucus associated with colds and soothe throat irritation and the associated dry cough. The syrup contains dry extract of thyme herb and marshmallow root extract. Importantly, the preparation does not contain alcohol and does not cause drowsiness and is suitable for use in adults, adolescents and children from 6 years of age.
    The traditional herbal medicinal product is intended for use in the above-mentioned indications, resulting only from its long-term use.

    Indications

    Dry cough and wet cough associated with colds.

    Composition

    15 ml of syrup contains:
    active substances: dry extract of Thymus vulgaris L. and / or Thymus zygis L, herba, (thyme herb) (7-13: 1) 120 mg and extract of Althaea officinalis L., radix (marshmallow root) (1: 12- 14) 830 mg, extraction solvent: water,
    other ingredients: xylitol (E967), methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E218), propyl parahydroxybenzoate (E216), raspberry juice concentrate (containing sucrose, glucose and fructose), raspberry flavor (natural and artificial flavors, propylene glycol (E1520), gum, citric acid monohydrate (E 330), maltodextrin, acacia, purified water.

    Action

    Stimulating expectoration and soothing throat irritation.

    Dosage

    Adults and adolescents over 12 years of age: 15 ml four times a day (every 3-4 hours); the maximum daily dose is 90 ml 6 times a day.
    Children aged 6-12 years: 7.5 ml four times a day (every 3-4 hours), 4 times a day; the maximum daily dose is 45 ml 6 times a day.
    The dose should be measured using the measuring cup provided in the package and drunk, preferably without diluting. If after 7 days there is no improvement or the patient feels worse, you should see your doctor. The syrup can be used in children aged 3-6 years only after consultation and the dosage has been agreed with a doctor.

    Contraindications

    Allergy to thyme, marshmallow root or other plants belonging to the Lamiaceae family or any of the other ingredients of the preparation.
    Do not use the syrup in children under 3 years of age.
    Due to the lack of sufficient data, the use during pregnancy and breastfeeding is not recommended.

    Storage

    Keep the preparation out of the sight and reach of children.
    Once opened, the contents of the bottle should be used within 4 weeks.

    Side effects

    Bronchostop Duo for cough, like any other medicine, can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
    Not known (frequency cannot be estimated from the available data):
    Hypersensitivity reactions have been observed (including one case of anaphylactic shock and one case of Quincke's edema),
    gastric symptoms associated with the use of a thyme containing medicinal product.

    Interactions

    There are no known interactions with other medicinal products.

    Warnings and Precautions

    In case of fever, shortness of breath or purulent discharge, a doctor or a pharmacist should be consulted.
    No studies on the effects of the medicinal product on the ability to drive and use machines have been performed (the syrup does not contain ingredients known to cause drowsiness).

    The preparation contains:

    • preservatives (methyl parahydroxybenzoate and propyl parahydroxybenzoate), which may cause delayed-type allergic reactions,
    • xylitol and may have a laxative effect (caloric value 2.4 kcal / g xylitol),
    • raspberry juice concentrate containing sucrose, glucose and fructose (66 mg of fructose in each 15 ml dose): if you (or your child) have an intolerance to some sugars or have previously had hereditary fructose intolerance ( a rare genetic disease in which the patient's body does not break down fructose), contact your doctor before taking the medicine or giving it to your child.
    • propylene glycol (33.3 mg in each single 15 ml dose).
