    Product description 

    Candid cream is used to treat fungal diseases of the skin and mucous membranes caused by dermatophytes, molds and yeasts, as well as other pathogens sensitive to clotrimazole. Skin infections caused by Malassezia furtur (versus versicolor) and Corynebacterium minutissimum (erythrasma). Candidal vulvitis and candidal balanitis.

    Compound

    Active ingredient: clotrimazole;
    1 g of cream contains clotrimazole 10 mg;
    Excipients: propylene glycol, white soft paraffin, mineral oil, non-ionic emulsified wax, benzyl alcohol, methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E 218), propyl parahydroxybenzoate (E 216), butylhydroxytoluene (E 321), sodium dihydrogen phosphate, anhydrous sodium phosphate, purified water.

    Contraindications

    Hypersensitivity to clotrimazole or other components of the drug. Hypersensitivity to other imidazoles. Do not use the cream to treat nails or scalp infections.

    Dosage and administration

    Adults Candid, cream, apply a thin layer on the affected areas of the skin 1-3 times a day at the rate of 0.5 cm strips of cream on a surface the size of a palm. After applying the cream is easy to rub.
    With candidal vulvitis or candidal balanitis in adults, a strip of cream (0.5 cm) is applied in a thin layer to the affected areas 2-3 times a day (on the vulva and perineum in women or on the glans penis and foreskin in men) and rub .
    Therapy of candidal vulvitis or candidal balanitis requires the simultaneous treatment of both partners.
    To ensure the effectiveness of treatment, depending on the disease, it is necessary to continue the use of Candid, cream, for another 2 weeks after the disappearance of subjective symptoms. The disappearance of symptoms is expected after a course of treatment with Candid:
    • with ringworm - 3-4 weeks;
    • with erythrasma - 2-4 weeks;
    • with multi-colored lichen - 1-3 weeks;
    • with candidal balanitis and candidal vulvitis - 1-2 weeks.
    If there is no improvement after 4 weeks of treatment, the patient must be sure to inform the doctor.

    Clinical studies on the effect of clotrimazole on fertility in women have not been conducted, however, animal studies have not revealed the effect of clotrimazole on fertility. The number of studies using clotrimazole during pregnancy is limited. Animal studies have shown no direct or indirect harmful effects in terms of reproductive toxicity. As a precautionary measure, it is advisable to avoid the use of clotrimazole during the first trimester of pregnancy.
    During treatment with clotrimazole, breast-feeding should be discontinued.
    Children
    There is no experience with the use of clotrimazole in children, so this category of patients should not be used.

    Overdose

    There is no risk of acute intoxication, since it is unlikely that overdose is possible after a single vaginal dose or application to the skin (application on large areas of the skin under conditions conducive to increased absorption), as well as after accidental oral use. There is no specific antidote.
    In case of accidental oral administration, it may rarely be necessary to perform a gastric lavage if a life-threatening dose has been applied within the previous hour or if there are visible symptoms of an overdose (eg, dizziness, nausea, vomiting). Gastric lavage should be performed only in cases where there is adequate airway protection.

    Adverse reactions

    During the use of the preparation, the following side effects may occur:
    from the immune system: allergic reactions, including fainting, arterial hypotension, shortness of breath, urticaria;
    from the skin and subcutaneous tissue: redness (erythema), blisters, malaise, discomfort / pain, swelling, irritation, peeling, itching, rash, tingling, burning / sensations of heat.

    Interaction

    Clotrimazole may reduce the effect of other local antifungal preparations, in particular polyene antibiotics such as nystatin and natamycin.

    Storage conditions

    Store in a place protected from light at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. Keep out of the reach of children.
