Citomoxan will provide topical treatment for bacterial conjunctivitis caused by strains of bacteria that are susceptible to moxifloxacin.
Structure
Active ingredient: moxifloxacin hydrochloride, 1 ml of drops contains 5.45 mg of moxifloxacin hydrochloride, which is equivalent to 5 mg of moxifloxacin.
Excipients: sodium chloride, boric acid, 1 ml hydrochloric acid solution, sodium hydroxide, water for injection.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the active substance, other quinolones or to any of the components of the preparation.
Mode of application
For adults, including elderly patients, instill 1 drop into the affected eye 3 times a day.
Usually the condition improves within 5 days, after which treatment should be continued for another 2-3 days.
If no improvement is observed within 5 days of treatment, you should consult your doctor to clarify the diagnosis or treatment.
The duration of treatment depends on the severity of the disease and on the clinical and bacteriological picture of the course of the disease.
Application features
Pregnant
Citomoxan should not be used during pregnancy, unless the expected benefit from the preparation to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus.
Drivers
Drops have little effect on the ability to drive vehicles or other mechanisms.
Temporary blurred vision or other visual impairment may affect your ability to drive.
If blurred vision occurs during instillation, the patient must wait.
Overdose
Given the characteristics of the preparation, no toxic effect is expected in case of overdose when using the preparation in the eye or if the contents of one vial are accidentally swallowed.
Side effects
During clinical studies, the most common adverse reactions were eye pain and eye irritation, which occurred in about 1-2% of patients.
On the part of the circulatory and lymphatic system: a decrease in the level of hemoglobin.
From the nervous system: headache, rarely paresthesia.
From the side of the organs of vision: eye pain, eye irritation, punctate keratitis, dry eye syndrome, conjunctival hemorrhage, conjunctival hyperemia, eye redness, itchy eyes, abnormal eye sensitivity, eyelid edema, sensation of discomfort in the eye, corneal epithelium defect, side disorders cornea, corneal coloration, conjunctivitis, blepharitis, eye swelling, eyelid pain, conjunctival edema, blurred vision, decreased visual acuity, asthenopia, eyelid disorders, eyelid erythema.
From the respiratory system: thoracic and mediastinal disturbances, discomfort in the nose, pharyngolaryngeal pain, foreign body sensation.
From the gastrointestinal tract: dysgeusia, vomiting.
From the liver and biliary tract: an increase in the level of alanine aminotransferase, an increase in the level of gamma-glutamyltransferase.
From the immune system: hypersensitivity.
From the nervous system: dizziness.
From the side of the organs of vision: ulcerative keratitis, keratitis, increased lacrimation, photophobia, discharge from the eyes.
On the part of the cardiovascular system: heart palpitations.
From the respiratory system: thoracic and mediastinal disorders shortness of breath.
From the gastrointestinal tract: nausea.
From the skin and subcutaneous tissue: erythema, pruritus, rash, urticaria In patients undergoing systemic therapy with quinolones, serious, sometimes fatal hypersensitivity reactions were observed, sometimes after the first dose.
Some reactions were accompanied by cardiovascular failure, loss of consciousness, tinnitus, swelling of the pharynx or face, dyspnea, hives, and itching.
Storage conditions
Shelf life is 3 years.
The shelf life after opening the bottle is 28 days.
Store in its original packaging at a temperature not exceeding 25 ° C, out of the reach of children.
