The active substance of the preparation is levocetirizine in the form of dihydrochloride, which is antiallergic: it inhibits skin reactions, including rash, urticaria, and reduces the permeability of the mucous membranes, including the nasal mucosa. The preparation penetrates to the central nervous system to a small extent and usually does not have a sedative effect and does not cause drowsiness, therefore it is classified as a second-generation antihistamine. It is used to treat both chronic and seasonal allergic rhinitis (hay fever), chronic idiopathic urticaria. Levocetirizine improves the quality of life of people suffering from perennial allergic rhinitis.
Symptomatic treatment of allergic rhinitis (including chronic rhinitis) and chronic idiopathic urticaria in adults, adolescents and children over 6 years of age.
1 film-coated tablet contains:
Antiallergic.
Adults and children from 6 years of age: 1 tablet (5 mg) daily.
Swallow the tablet whole with a drink of water.
The preparation can be taken with or without food.
Do not take a double dose to make up for the forgotten dose. If there is no improvement or the patient feels worse after 3 days from starting the preparation, a doctor should be consulted. The preparation should not be used for more than 10 days without consulting a doctor. In patients with hepatic impairment, dose reduction is usually not necessary. Allergy (hypersensitivity) to levocetirizine dihydrochloride, an antiallergic preparation or any of the other ingredients of the preparation.
Severe renal impairment (severe renal failure with a creatinine clearance less than 10 ml / min).
