    Indication

    Neuroses with increased irritability; in complex therapy of ag and vegetative-vascular dystonia; sharply pronounced spasms of coronary vessels, tachycardia; intestinal spasms.

    Application

    Corvalol capsules are taken under the tongue. the capsule is held under the tongue until it is completely dissolved. to accelerate the effect, you can crush the capsule with your teeth.
    Take 1 capsule 2-3 times a day regardless of meals. If necessary (pronounced tachycardia and spasm of coronary vessels), a single dose can be increased to 2 capsules.
    The duration of use of the preparation is determined by the doctor depending on the clinical effect and tolerability of the preparation.

    Contraindication

    Increased sensitivity to the components of the preparation, bromine; pronounced arterial hypotension; acute myocardial infarction.

    Side effects

    Corvalol is generally well tolerated. in some cases, the following side effects may be noted:
    • from the side of the nervous system: drowsiness, dizziness, decreased concentration of attention;
    • from the side of the digestive tract: abdominal discomfort, mild nausea;
    • from the side of the immune system: allergic reactions, including Quincke's edema, urticaria, rash, itching;
    • others: short-term arterial hypotension, lacrimation
    Long-term use of preparations containing bromine can lead to bromine poisoning, which is characterized by the following symptoms: CNS depression, depressed mood, apathy, confusion, ataxia, purpura, rhinitis, conjunctivitis. These phenomena disappear when the dose is reduced or the preparation is stopped.

    Special instructions

    In cases where pain in the heart area does not go away after taking the preparation, it is necessary to consult a doctor to rule out acute coronary syndrome.
    The preparation contains 1 mmol (23 mg) / dose of sodium, that is, practically free of sodium.
    Auxiliary substances included in the composition of the preparation can cause allergic reactions (perhaps delayed).
    Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Use of the preparation during pregnancy and breastfeeding is possible if, in the doctor's opinion, the expected positive effect for the mother exceeds the potential risk for the fetus / child.
    Children. There is no experience of use for the treatment of children.
    The ability to influence the speed of reaction when driving a motor vehicle or working with other mechanisms. In the first hours after taking it, side effects (dizziness and drowsiness) are possible, so people who work with complex mechanisms, drivers of vehicles should be careful when using the preparation.

    Interactions

    Corvalol increases the sedative effect of psychotropic preparations, opioid analgesics, alcohol and anesthetics when they are used simultaneously.
    It is possible to potentiate the effect of antihypertensive preparations when they are used simultaneously with corvalol K.
    Corvalol K reduces the severity of headache caused by taking nitrates.

    Overdose

    Long-term use is not recommended due to the possible accumulation of bromine in the body and the development of bromine poisoning.
    Symptoms: headache, nausea, excitement, heart failure, depression of the central nervous system, decrease in blood pressure.
    Treatment: withdrawal of the preparation and symptomatic treatment.
