One sachet of D-ORS contains diosmectite and electrolytes.
Diosmectite is a natural clay with a multilayer crystal structure, which gives it a high adsorption capacity. In addition, diosmectite interacts with glycoproteins in the mucous membrane of the intestinal wall, creating a protective layer. Thus, diosmectite contributes to a change in the shape of the stool (the stool becomes shaped) and a decrease in the frequency of bowel movements.
Due to the optimal content of salts for rehydration, D-ORS also helps to restore water and electrolyte balance. Thus, D-ORS reduces the risk of dehydration due to diarrhea and shortens the duration of illness.
One sachet of powder contains: diosmectite 3.00 g, sodium chloride 0.263 g, potassium chloride 0.0373 g, potassium anhydrous citrate 0.162 g, trisodium citrate 0.147 g, glucose (anhydrous dextrose) 1, 982 g.
Excipients: vanillin, sodium saccharin, silicon dioxide, cream flavor, vanilla flavor, beta-carotene color.
Oral treatment of acute and chronic diarrhea and pain symptoms caused by gastrointestinal disorders.
The contents of each sachet are used once, after opening. The powder is dissolved in 100 ml of water: to obtain a homogeneous suspension, pour the powder into a glass, then add water and stir thoroughly. Reception of D-ORS is recommended between meals.
In the first three days of illness:
children (1-12 months) no more than 2 sachets per day (a diluted suspension can be given with a bottle in 2-3 doses);
children (after 1 year) - no more than 4 sachets per day;
adults - no more than 6 sachets per day.
Thereafter, continue to take half of the maximum daily dose until symptoms disappear.
D-ORS can be taken for a maximum of 5 consecutive days. If symptoms persist, see your doctor.
Consult your doctor if it is necessary to combine D-ORS with other drugs. Keep D-ORS out of the reach of children. Do not use D-ORS if the packaging is damaged. Do not use D-ORS after the expiry date which is stated on the package.
The high adsorption capacity of diosmectite can affect the effectiveness of other drugs, when taken orally, simultaneously with D-ORS. It is necessary to take such funds with a time interval from the reception of D-ORS.
The use of D-ORS is not recommended for difficult bowel movements (constipation).
In the case of diabetes mellitus or diet, to control blood sugar levels, it should be borne in mind that D-ORS contains 1, 982 g of anhydrous dextrose.
D-ORS should be stored at room temperature, out of direct sunlight, away from water sources, in a dry place.
The shelf life of D-ORS is 3 years. The expiration date is valid if the packaging is intact and stored correctly.
