    Deriva aqueous gel is indicated for the topical treatment of common acne (acne vulgaris).

    Structure

    Active substance: adapalene;

    1 g of gel contains adapalene 1 mg;

    Excipients: sodium edetate, carbomer 940, propylene glycol, methylparaben (E 218), poloxamer 407, phenoxyethanol, sodium hydroxide, purified water.

    Contraindications

    Hypersensitivity to adapalene or other components of the preparation.

    Mode of application

    Deriva aqueous gel should be used for topical treatment of acne in adults and children over 12 years of age. The gel should be applied in a thin layer to clean, dry skin in the area of ​​rashes once a day, at night.

    During the first weeks of treatment, an exacerbation of the acne process is possible due to the effect of the active substance on lesions that were previously invisible. In this case, you should not stop treatment, the therapeutic effect is observed after 8-12 weeks from the start of treatment. Itching and burning of the skin is also possible immediately after application of the gel, which disappears over time.

    Overdose

    When a large amount of gel is applied, redness and flaking of the skin may occur. Since there is almost no absorption of the preparation through the skin, any systemic effect of adapalene is unlikely.

    Side effects

    Allergic reactions, photosensitivity, tingling sensation, redness, peeling, dryness, itching and burning of the skin at the site of application, itching and burning of the skin is often observed immediately after applying the gel, as well as exacerbation of acne, skin irritation in the first weeks of treatment.

    Interaction

    Since Deriva aqueous gel can cause local irritation in some patients, the concomitant use of other potentially irritating topical preparations, including cosmetics, increases the risk of unwanted skin exposure.

    Care should be taken to prescribe the preparation with preparations containing sulfur, resorcinol or salicylic acid.
