    Product description

    Diclofenac capsules are indicated for:
    • inflammatory and degenerative forms of rheumatic diseases (rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, osteoarthritis, spondyloarthritis)
    • pain syndromes from the spine;
    • rheumatic diseases of extra-articular soft tissues;
    • acute attacks of gout;
    • post-traumatic and postoperative pain syndromes accompanied by inflammation
    • and swelling, for example, after dental and orthopedic interventions
    • gynecological diseases accompanied by pain syndrome and inflammation, for example, primary dysmenorrhea or adnexitis;

    Composition

    Active substance: diclofenac;
    1 capsule contains diclofenac sodium in terms of 100% substance 25 mg;
    Excipients: lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate;
    Hard gelatin capsule No. 4 contains: gelatin, titanium dioxide (E 171), indigotin (E 132), erythrosine (E 127), iron oxide (E 172).

    Contraindication

    Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any other component of the preparation.
    Acute stomach or intestinal ulcer; gastrointestinal bleeding or perforation.
    History of bleeding or perforation of the gastrointestinal tract associated with previous treatment with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory preparations (NSAIDs).
    An active form of peptic ulcer disease/bleeding or a history of recurrent peptic ulcer disease/bleeding.
    The last trimester of pregnancy.
    Inflammatory bowel diseases (for example, Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis).
    Liver failure.
    Kidney failure.
    Congestive heart failure (NYHA Ii-IV).
    Ischemic heart disease in patients with angina pectoris or myocardial infarction.
    Cerebrovascular diseases in patients who have suffered a stroke or have episodes of transient ischemic attacks.
    Diseases of peripheral arteries.

    Application method

    To minimize unwanted effects, the preparation should be used in low effective doses for a short period of time, taking into account the task of treatment in each individual patient.
    Capsules should be swallowed whole, without opening, with water, preferably before meals.
    For adults, the recommended dose is 100-150 mg per day. In the case of moderate severity of symptoms, as a rule, it is sufficient to use a dose of 75-100 mg per day. The daily dose should be divided into 2-3 doses.

    Features of application

    In the I and II trimesters of pregnancy, the preparation Diclofenac sodium can be prescribed only when the expected benefit to the mother exceeds the potential risk to the fetus, and only in the minimum effective dose, and the duration of treatment should be as short as possible. Diclofenac sodium is contraindicated during the third trimester of pregnancy.
    Children
    From 6 years old.

    Usually, when taking the preparation in the recommended dose and with a short course of treatment, there is no effect on the speed of reactions. However, patients who experience visual disturbances, dizziness, vertigo, drowsiness or other disturbances of central nervous system (CNS) functions, lethargy, fatigue when using the preparation Diclofenac sodium should not drive vehicles or work with mechanisms.

    Overdose

    There is no typical clinical picture characteristic of diclofenac overdose. Overdose may cause symptoms such as headache, nausea, vomiting, epigastric pain, gastrointestinal bleeding, diarrhea, dizziness, disorientation, agitation, coma, drowsiness, tinnitus, or seizures. Acute kidney failure and liver damage are possible in case of severe intoxication.
    After taking potentially toxic doses, activated charcoal can be used, and after taking potentially life-threatening doses, gastric lavage (for example, inducing vomiting, gastric lavage) is performed.

    Side effects

    From the side of the nervous system: often - headache, dizziness.
    From the organs of hearing and labyrinth: often - vertigo.
    From the gastrointestinal tract: often - nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, dyspepsia, abdominal pain, flatulence.
    From the side of the skin and subcutaneous tissue: often - a rash.
    From the side of the kidneys and urinary system: often - fluid retention in the body, edema.

    Interaction

    Cholestipol and cholestyramine. These preparations may delay or decrease the absorption of diclofenac. Therefore, it is recommended to prescribe diclofenac at least one hour before or 4-6 hours after the use of colestipol / colestyramine.
    Cardiac glycosides. The simultaneous use of cardiac glycosides and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory preparations can aggravate heart failure, reduce GFR and increase the level of glycosides in the blood plasma.
    Mifepristone. NSAIDs should not be used for 8-12 days after using mifepristone, as NSAIDs may reduce the effect of mifepristone.
