Dolomite Vis is a medicinal product containing a natural mineral (dolomite), which is the main source of calcium carbonate and magnesium carbonate. Additionally, small amounts of iron, aluminum, silicon, manganese, zinc and copper ions are present in dolomite. The preparation is used therapeutically to balance the body's calcium and magnesium metabolism in the states of hypocalcemia and hypomagnesaemia and prophylactically to prevent and develop calcium and magnesium deficiencies, including states of physical and mental fatigue, increased irritability, stressful situations, sleep disturbances, muscle pain, longer physical exertion, during periods of rapid growth in children and adolescents, during pregnancy and lactation, during convalescence after diseases and bone fractures. In addition, the preparation can be used by women in the menopause, in the prevention of bone demineralization and as an adjunct in the comprehensive treatment of osteoporosis.
The daily requirement of the human body for calcium is 700-800 mg, and for magnesium 270-350 mg.
Therapeutically, to compensate for calcium and magnesium metabolism in hypocalcaemia and hypomagnesaemia.
In menopausal women in the prophylaxis of bone demineralization and as an adjunct in the comprehensive treatment of osteoporosis
1 tablet (500 mg dolomite) contains:
magnesium carbonate and calcium carbonate, corresponding to 64 mg of magnesium ions and 108 mg of calcium ions,
excipients: talc, lactose monohydrate, potato starch, magnesium stearate, gelatin.
Balancing the calcium and magnesium balance.
Adults and children over 12 years of age:
prophylactically 1 tablet a day;
Therapeutically, in states of calcium and magnesium deficiency, 1 to 3 tablets a day, depending on the size of the deficiency.
The preparation should be taken after a meal with water.
Do not use a double dose of the preparation to make up for the forgotten dose. If you have the impression that the effect of the preparation is too strong or too weak, consult your doctor.
Hypersensitivity to the active substance or any of the excipients.
Hypercalcaemia (increase in blood calcium levels).
Hypermagnesaemia (excess magnesium).
Atrioventricular block.
Myasthenia gravis (an autoimmune neuromuscular disease).
Anuria, kidney diseases with impaired filtration.
Significant reduction in systolic and diastolic blood pressure.
Developing malignant tumors.
The preparation should be stored out of the reach and sight of children, at a temperature below 25 ° C.
Dolomit Vis Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Possible side effects with frequency not known (cannot be estimated from the available data):
gastrointestinal disorders: nausea, vomiting, loose stools,
general disorders and conditions at the site of administration: with prolonged use, symptoms of drowsiness may occur in the stools.
Tell your doctor or pharmacist about all the preparations you are taking or have recently taken, and about any preparations you plan to take.
Due to the reduced absorption of both calcium and magnesium as well as the following preparations, Dolomit Vis should not be administered simultaneously with phosphates, iron compounds, fluoroquinolones, tetracyclines and oral warfarin-derived anticoagulants (a 3-hour break between the administration of both preparations is advisable).
Intravenous calcium salts weaken the effect of magnesium.
Diuretics (furosemide, ethacrynic acid) increase the excretion of magnesium in the urine.
High doses of calcium in combination with vitamin D may reduce the effect of verapamil and other calcium antagonists.
Thiazide diuretics (e.g. hydrochlorothiazide) increase calcium reabsorption and pose a risk of hypercalcaemia.
High doses of calcium administered simultaneously with cardiac glycosides intensify their effect and may lead to arrhythmias.
Alcohol and glucose in greater amounts will increase the excretion of magnesium in the urine.
Do not use in combination with oral anticoagulants and digitalis glycosides.
Patients with previously diagnosed intolerance to some sugars should consult a doctor before taking the preparation.
Particular care should be taken when using Dolomit Vis in patients with renal failure, mild hyperlacuria (impaired calcium metabolism) or nephrolithiasis, as monitoring of urinary calcium excretion is then required.
Patients with kidney stones should drink plenty of fluids during treatment.
While taking Dolomit Vis, blood calcium levels should be monitored.
Taking more than the recommended dose of the preparation may cause diarrhea and the daily dose should be reduced or the preparation should be temporarily discontinued.
Symptoms of somnolence may indicate that the concentration of magnesium in the serum is already high.
In the event of taking more than the recommended dose of the preparation, immediately consult a doctor or pharmacist.
The preparation contains sugar (lactose).
The use of Dolomit Vis during pregnancy and breastfeeding should be consulted with a doctor.
The preparation does not affect the ability to drive or operate machinery.
