    Pharmacological properties

    The main active ingredients of plantain lanceolate are mucus, iridoid glycosides (aucubin, catapol), phenol carboxylic acids (chlorogenic acid) and their glycosides (verbascoside), saponins, flavonoids, tannins. thanks to these substances, lanceolate plantain has anti-inflammatory, secretolytic and antibacterial properties. liquefies phlegm, promotes expectoration.
    Plantain lanceolate, increasing the phagocytic activity of granulocytes and the synthesis of interferon, affects the body's immune system.
    Aqueous extract of plantain lanceolate accelerates coagulation in vitro and in vivo. It was also mentioned that an aqueous plantain extract accelerates epithelial growth and scarring in wounds and reduces hyperemia.
    Plantain extract reduces the toxicity of cytostatics. Aucubin is active in protecting the liver from poisoning with carbon tetrachloride and α-amanitin (a poisonous fungus).

    Indications

    Acute inflammation of the respiratory tract, accompanied by a cough.

    Application

    Every 2-3 hours (5-7 times a day) for children aged 2-6 years, ½ teaspoon (2.5 ml), 6-12 years old - 1 teaspoon (5 ml), adults and children over 12 years - 1 tablespoon (15 ml). the duration of treatment is determined individually, but on average is 5-7 days. if during this period the patient's condition does not improve, it is necessary to consult a doctor regarding further use.

    Contraindications

    Hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation. hereditary fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption syndrome and sucrase-isomaltase deficiency.

    Side effects

    Individuals with hypersensitivity may experience allergic reactions, skin rash, itching.

    Special instructions

    100 ml of the preparation contains 22.43 g of sucrose and 13.75 g of fructose. this should be taken into account by patients with diabetes mellitus and patients with intolerance to any sugar. potassium sorbate contained in the preparation is harmful to people on a low-calorie diet.
    The preparation is used with caution in patients with hyperacid gastritis, gastric ulcer with high acidity, reflux esophagitis.
    During pregnancy and breastfeeding. The preparation can be used during pregnancy and lactation.
    Children. Due to the content of peppermint oil in the preparation, this medicine should not be used in children under 2 years of age.
    Influence on the ability to drive vehicles or other mechanisms. The preparation does not have any effect on the ability to drive vehicles or work with mechanisms.
