Application

Elfunat is prescribed intramuscularly or intravenously (stream, drip). doses are selected individually. with the infusion method of administration, the drug should be diluted in the physiological solution of sodium chloride (200 ml). begin treatment in adults with a dose of 50-100 mg 1-3 times a day, gradually increasing the dose until a therapeutic effect is obtained. jet elfunate is injected slowly over 5-7 minutes, drip - at a rate of 40-60 drops per 1 minute. the maximum daily dose should not exceed 800 mg.

In acute disorders of cerebral circulation, Elfunat is prescribed in complex therapy for the first 2-4 days in / in a stream or drip for adults, 200-300 mg 1 time per day, then 100 mg intramuscularly 3 times a day. The duration of treatment is 10-14 days.

With a traumatic brain injury and the consequences of a traumatic brain injury, Elfunat is used for 10–15 days by intravenous drip, 200–500 mg 2–4 times a day.

With dyscirculatory encephalopathy in the decompensation phase, Elfunat should be administered intravenously by stream or drip at a dose of 100 mg 2-3 times a day for 14 days. Then the drug is administered intramuscularly at 100 mg / day for the next 2 weeks.

For course prevention of dyscirculatory encephalopathy, the drug is administered intramuscularly at 100 mg 2 times a day for 10-14 days.

For mild cognitive impairment in elderly patients and in anxiety states, the drug is prescribed intramuscularly at a dose of 100-300 mg / day for 14-30 days.

In acute myocardial infarction, as part of complex therapy, Elfunat is administered intravenously or intramuscularly for 14 days against the background of traditional therapy for myocardial infarction, which includes nitrates, β-adrenergic receptor blockers, ACE inhibitors, thrombolytics, anticoagulant and antiplatelet agents, as well as symptomatic indicated funds. In the first 5 days, in order to achieve the maximum effect, it is desirable to administer Elfunat intravenously; in the next 9 days, intramuscular administration of the drug is possible. In / in the introduction of the drug is carried out by slow drip infusion (to avoid side effects) in 0.9% solution of sodium chloride or 5% solution of dextrose (glucose) in a volume of 100-150 ml for 30-90 minutes. If necessary, slow jet administration of the drug is possible for at least 5 minutes.

The introduction of Elfunat (in / in or in / m) is carried out 3 times a day, every 8 hours. The daily therapeutic dose is 6-9 mg / kg of body weight, a single dose is 2-3 mg / kg of body weight. The maximum daily dose should not exceed 800 mg, single - 250 mg.

In open-angle glaucoma of various stages, as part of complex therapy, Elfunat is administered intramuscularly at 100-300 mg 1-3 times a day for 14 days.

With alcohol withdrawal syndrome, Elfunat is administered at a dose of 100–200 mg intramuscularly 2–3 times a day or intravenously drip 1–2 times a day for 5–7 days.

In acute intoxication with antipsychotics, the drug is administered intravenously at a dose of 50-300 mg / day for 7-14 days.

In acute purulent-inflammatory processes of the abdominal cavity (acute necrotizing pancreatitis, peritonitis), the drug is prescribed on the 1st day, both in the preoperative and postoperative period. Doses depend on the form and severity of the disease, the prevalence of the process, variants of the clinical course. Cancellation of the drug should be carried out gradually, only after a stable positive clinical and laboratory effect. In acute edematous (interstitial) pancreatitis, Elfunat is prescribed to adults at 100 mg 3 times a day intravenously (in isotonic sodium chloride solution) and intramuscularly. Mild degree of necrotizing pancreatitis: 100–200 mg 3 times a day intravenously (in isotonic solution of sodium chloride) and intramuscularly. Average degree: adults - 200 mg 3 times a day in / in drip (in isotonic solution of sodium chloride). Severe course: at a pulse dosage of 800 mg on the 1st day with a double injection, then - 300 mg 2 times a day with a gradual decrease in the daily dose. Very severe course: at an initial dose of 800 mg / day until stable relief of manifestations of pancreatogenic shock, after stabilization of the condition - 300–400 mg 2 times a day intravenously (in isotonic sodium chloride solution) with a gradual decrease in the daily dose.

Children. Not prescribed for children.

Contraindications

Acute liver or kidney failure, increased individual sensitivity to the drug, children's age, pregnancy, lactation.

Side effects

Rarely - nausea, dryness of the oral mucosa, allergic reactions, drowsiness, disruption of the process of falling asleep, anxiety, emotional reactivity, distal hyperhidrosis, headache, impaired coordination, increased blood pressure, decreased blood pressure.

Use during pregnancy and lactation. Strictly controlled clinical studies of the safety of the drug during pregnancy and lactation have not been conducted, so the drug is not used during this period.

Interactions

Elfunat enhances the action of benzodiazepine anxiolytics, anticonvulsants (carbamazepine), antiparkinsonian drugs (levodopa). reduces the toxic effect of ethyl alcohol.

Overdose

Overdose may cause drowsiness. treatment is detoxification therapy.
