    Product description

    Eloprine Forte is a preparation whose active substance is inosine pranobex. The active substance of the preparation has an antiviral effect and supports the work of the immune system.

    Indications

    Supportive action in the case of reduced immunity.
    In the case of recurrent infections of the upper respiratory tract.

    Composition

    1 ml of syrup contains:
    • active substances: inosine pranobex (Inosinum pranobexum) 100mg: a complex containing inosine and 2-hydroxypropyl dimethylammonium 4-acetamidobenzoate in a molar ratio of 1: 3,
    • excipients: methyl parahydroxybenzoate [E 218], propyl parahydroxybenzoate [E 216], sucrose, citric acid monohydrate, sodium hydroxide, liquid strawberry flavor, purified water.

    Action

    Inosine pranobex is a synthetic purine derivative. It exhibits immunostimulatory and antiviral properties, which result from the marked stimulation of the host's immune response in vivo under the influence of the medicinal product.

    Dosage

    The dose is based on the patient's body weight and the severity of the disease.
    The daily dose should be divided into equal single doses administered several times a day.
    The duration of treatment is usually between 5 and 14 days. After the symptoms have disappeared, administration of the preparation should be continued for 1 to 2 days.
    Adults and the elderly over 65 years of age: the recommended daily dose is 50 mg / kg body weight per day (0.5 ml for 1 kg body weight per day), usually 3 g (i.e. 30 ml of syrup) per day, administered at 3 or 4 divided doses. The maximum dose is 4 g (i.e. 40 ml of syrup) per day.
    Children over 1 year of age: 50 mg / kg body weight per day, usually 0.5 ml of syrup per 1 kg of body weight in 3 or 4 equal divided doses throughout the day; use according to body weight: 10-14 kg 3 × 2.5 ml, 15-20 kg 3 × 2.5 to 3.5 ml, 21-30 kg 3 × 3.5 to 5 ml, 31-40 kg 3 × 5 to 7.5ml, 41-50 kg 3 × 7.5 to 9ml.

    Contraindications

    Hypersensitivity to inosine pranobex or any of the other ingredients of this preparation.
    A gout attack or tests have shown an increased level of uric acid in the blood.
    Do not use the preparation in children under 1 year of age.
    Do not use Eloprine Forte during pregnancy and breastfeeding, unless your doctor tells you otherwise.

    Storage

    The preparation should be stored below 25 ° C, out of reach of children.

    Side effects

    Common side effects (between 1 and 10 in 100 people):
    • temporary increase in blood uric acid levels,
    • increase in liver enzymes or blood urea nitrogen levels,
    • nausea with or without vomiting
    • epigastric pain,
    • itchy skin
    • skin rash
    • headaches,
    • dizziness,
    • tiredness or malaise
    • arthralgia.
    Uncommon (1 to 10 in 1,000 people):
    • diarrhea,
    • constipation
    • nervousness,
    • sleepiness or difficulty falling asleep
    • increased urine volume.

    Interactions

    Tell your doctor or pharmacist about all the preparations you are taking, have recently taken or are planning to take, as they may interact with Eloprine Forte:
    medicines taken to treat gout
    preparations that increase the excretion of uric acid,
    medicines that suppress the immune system, used by patients after organ transplants or in atopic dermatitis
    azidothymidine.

    Warnings and Precautions

    If you have had gout attacks or increased uric acid in the blood and urine.
    Eloprine Forte may cause a temporary increase in uric acid levels in the blood and urine.
    If the patient has had kidney stones.
    If you have kidney problems.
