Alleviation of the symptoms of conjunctival irritation.
Use a clean finger to lift the lower eyelid of the instilled eye. Drop 1 or 2 drops into the conjunctival sac, being careful not to touch the eyeball with the tip of the dropper. After instillation, do not blink, close the eye for about 1 minute and gently press the area of the corner of the eye. This will allow the drops to be properly distributed over the surface of the eyeball and prevent the solution from flowing into the nasolacrimal canal.
