The preparation "Fenistil emulsion" is used for the following indications: itching, for example, with insect bites, allergic irritation of small areas of the skin, urticaria, uncomplicated minor skin burns and not extensive solar erythema.
The active ingredient is dimetindene maleate (1 g of the preparation contains 1 mg dimetindene maleate).
Excipients: benzalkonium chloride, benzyl alcohol, butylhydroxytoluene (E 321), disodium edetate, cocoyl caprylocaprate, mineral oil, polyethylene glycol cetostearyl ether, carbomer, sodium hydroxide 30% solution, propylene glycol, purified water.
Hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation.
Adults and children aged 2 years and older: the preparation is applied to the skin 2 to 4 times a day.
Children under 2 years of age: only as directed by a doctor.
If the patient's condition does not improve after 7 days of using the preparation, you should consult a doctor.
In case of very severe itching or lesions of a large area, in addition to topical application of the preparation, after consultation with a doctor, the oral form of the preparation "Fenistil" should also be used.
Pregnant
During pregnancy, it is not recommended to use the preparation "Fenistil emulsion", except in cases where the benefits of the use outweighs the potential risk to the fetus. In this case, the use of the preparation is possible only as directed by a doctor.
It is not recommended to apply the preparation "Fenistil emulsion" on large areas of the skin, especially on damaged or inflamed skin. The same applies to women who are breastfeeding. In addition, women who are breastfeeding should not apply the gel to the nipples of the breasts.
Children

When used externally, dimetindene maleate does not affect the reaction rate when driving or operating other mechanisms.
If you accidentally swallow a large amount of the preparation "Fenistil emulsion", you may experience some symptoms characteristic of an overdose of H1-antihistamines: depression of the central nervous system, accompanied by drowsiness (mainly in adults), stimulation of the central nervous system and antimuscarinic effect (especially in children and the elderly age), including agitation, ataxia, hallucinations, tonic-clonic seizures, mydriasis, dry mouth, flushing of the face, urinary dysfunction and fever. Arterial hypotension is also possible.
In case of an overdose, it is necessary to take the measures recommended by the doctor in accordance with the symptoms that occur.
