    Product description

    Fitolizyna® is a traditional herbal medicine in the form of an oral paste. It is used as a diuretic and anti-inflammatory agent in the treatment of infections and inflammations of the urinary tract and in urinary tract stones with small deposits (so-called kidney sand). Additionally, the drug can also be used prophylactically in the case of kidney stones.
    The oral paste is a combined medicine containing couch grass rhizome, onion husk, birch leaves, fenugreek seeds, parsley root, goldenrod herb, horsetail herb, lovage root and knotweed herb. Fitolizyna®, as a traditional herbal medicinal product, is intended for use in specific indications resulting only from its long-term use.

    Indications

    Helpful in infections and inflammations of the urinary tract and in urinary tract stones (in small deposits, so-called kidney sand).
    Preventively in case of kidney stones.

    Composition

    5 g of paste contains:
    active substances: complex extract (1:1.3-1.6) from couch grass rhizome (Agropyri rhizomate) 12.5 parts, onion peel (Allii cepae squama) 5.0 parts, birch leaves (Betulae folio) 10, 0 parts, fenugreek seeds (Foenugraeci semine) 15.0 parts, parsley root (Petroselini radice) 17.5 parts, goldenrod herb (Solidaginis herba) 5.0 parts, horsetail herb (Equiseti herba) 10.0 parts ., lovage root (Levistici radix) 10.0 parts and knotweed herb (Polygoni avicularis herba) 15.0 parts. Extractant: ethanol 45% (V/V) 3.36 g,
    other ingredients: glycerol 99.5%, agar, peppermint essential oil, clary sage essential oil, sweet orange essential oil, Scots pine essential oil, wheat starch, vanillin, ethyl parahydroxybenzoate (E214), purified water,
    the drug contains up to 4% (V/V) ethanol.

    Action

    Diuretic, anti-inflammatory.

    Dosage

    Adults: dissolve 1 teaspoon of paste (about 5 g) in 1/2 cup of warm water and drink 3-4 times a day.
    Without consulting a doctor, it is not recommended to use it for longer than 2-4 weeks.

    Contraindications

    Allergy to the active substance or to plants from the Asteraceae family (Asteraceae, formerly Compositae), the Umbelliferae family (Apiaceae, formerly Umbelliferae), anethole or birch pollen allergens, or any of the other ingredients of the drug.
    Do not use in cases where fluid reduction is recommended, including severe heart or kidney disease.
    Do not use in case of edema caused by heart or kidney failure.
    Do not use in people under 18 years of age without medical consultation.

    Composition

    Store in a closed container at a temperature not higher than 25°C, out of the sight and reach of children.

    Side effects

    Fitolizyna®, like all medicines, this medicine may cause side effects, although not everyone experiences them.
    Not known (frequency cannot be estimated from the available data):
    • allergic reactions (itching, rash, hives, allergic rhinitis),
    • dizziness,
    • nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, flatulence,
    • hypersensitivity to UV rays.

    Interactions

    Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or might take any other medicines.
    So far, no influence on the action of other drugs has been found.
    Due to the diuretic effect, faster elimination of other drugs taken simultaneously should be taken into account.
    The medicine can:
    • enhance the effect of oral anticoagulants (including non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs), hypoglycemic drugs, lithium salts, monoamine oxidase inhibitors,
    • prolong the effects of pentobarbital, aminopyrine and paracetamol,
    • inhibit the absorption of β-carotene, α-tocopherol, cholesterol and drugs in the small intestine.
     

    Warnings and precautions

    Before you start using Fitolizyna, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
    If symptoms worsen, do not improve, or are accompanied by fever, pain and difficulty urinating, or blood in the urine, contact your doctor immediately.
    It is recommended to drink plenty of fluids while taking the drug.
    While using the drug, do not neglect doctor visits.
    Use in children and adolescents under 18 years of age is not recommended as specialist medical advice is required.
    The medicine contains:
    ethanol (4% (V/V) ethanol, i.e. up to 200 mg of ethanol in a single dose, which is equivalent to 5 ml of beer, 2 ml of wine per dose), and may be harmful to people with alcoholism; the ethanol content should be taken into account when used in pregnant or breastfeeding women, children and high-risk groups such as patients with liver disease or epilepsy,
    ethyl parahydroxybenzoate (E214), which may cause allergic reactions (possibly delayed reactions)
    wheat starch: the drug is suitable for people with celiac disease (celiac disease), but it should not be used by patients with wheat allergy (other than celiac disease).
    Pregnancy, breastfeeding and impact on fertility
    If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
    Due to lack of data, use in pregnant and breastfeeding women is not recommended.
    No data on effects on fertility.
    Driving and using machines
    There is no data on the effect of the drug on the ability to drive or use machines.
