    Indications

    Mucolytic treatment in acute and chronic bronchial and lung diseases with disturbances in mucus production and transport.

    Composition

    5 ml of the syrup contains the active substance: 30 mg of ambroxol hydrochloride and excipients: liquid sorbitol, non-crystallizing (E 420), benzoic acid (E 210), glycerol 85%, hydroxyethyl cellulose, raspberry flavor, purified water.

    Action

    Secretolytic and mucolytic (acts as an expectorant, thinning secretions).

    Dosage

    The usual dose is:
    - children aged 2-5. years: 1/4 measuring spoon (1.25 ml of syrup) 3 times a day;
    - children aged 6-12. years: 1/2 measuring spoon (2.5 ml of syrup) 2-3 times a day;
    - adolescents over 12 years of age and adults: 1 measuring spoon (5 ml of syrup) 3 times a day for the first 2-3 days, then 1 measuring spoon (5 ml of syrup) 2 times a day. In adults, if necessary, the dose can be increased to 2 measuring spoons (each 5 ml) of the syrup 2 times a day.
    The preparation should be taken orally, after a meal, using the attached measuring cup. Do not use the preparation immediately before going to bed. The preparation should not be used for more than 4-5 days without consulting a doctor.

    Contraindications

    Hypersensitivity to the active substance or any of the excipients.
    During pregnancy and breastfeeding, the preparation can be used only if expressly prescribed by a doctor.
    Use with caution in children under 12 years of age.
    Use with caution in patients with gastric and duodenal ulcer disease, impaired renal function and / or severe liver failure, bronchial asthma (the preparation increases cough and causes excessive expectoration), with impaired bronchial motility (possible mucus stasis).
    The preparation contains sorbitol.

    Effective but, like most syrups for children, it is extremely sweet. My son spits most of the dose. And that's the only reason I estimate it at 4+.
