    Floxal is indicated for the treatment of infections of the anterior segment of the eye caused by pathogens susceptible to ofloxacin, such as bacterial inflammation of the conjunctiva, cornea of ​​the eye, edges of the eyelids and lacrimal sac, barley and corneal ulcer.

    Structure

    active substance: ofloxacin;

    1 ml of ofloxacin 3 mg 1 drop contains 0.1 mg of ofloxacin;

    Excipients: benzalkonium chloride, hydrochloric acid, sodium hydroxide, sodium chloride, water for injection.

    Ofloxacin, a quinolone acid derivative, is a fluoroquinolone (gyrase inhibitor), an antibiotic, and has a bactericidal effect.

    Contraindications

    Hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation, other quinolones.

    Method of administration and dosage

    The dose of the preparation and the duration of treatment are always determined by the doctor, depending on the severity of the disease and the age of the patient.

    Unless otherwise prescribed, Floxal® eye drops should be injected into the conjunctival sac of the affected eye 1 drop 4 times a day. The duration of treatment with Floxal, eye drops should not exceed 2 weeks.

    Directions for use

    Gently pull the lower eyelid down and, by lightly pressing on the dropper bottle, inject 1 drop into the conjunctival sac of the affected eye.

    Children

    Floxal ®, eye drops, can be prescribed to children from 1 year old.

    Application features

    Despite the lack of evidence of any embryotoxic effects, Floxal ® eye drops, if possible, should not be used during pregnancy and lactation.

    The ability to influence the reaction rate when driving or driving other mechanisms

    The use of Floxal ®, eye drops, does not affect the patient's reaction rate.

    After instillation of the preparation into the conjunctival sac of the eye, blurred vision may be observed for several minutes. While vision is blurry, patients should refrain from driving or operating machinery.

    Overdose

    There have been no reports of overdose cases so far.

    Treatment is symptomatic, you must immediately rinse the eye (s) with water.

    Adverse Reactions

    Immediately after administration of the preparation, blurred vision may occur for several minutes.

    General manifestations.

    Serious reactions after systemic use of ofloxacin are rare, most symptoms return. Despite the fact that a small amount of ofloxacin is absorbed into the systemic circulation when applied topically, the possibility of reported side effects cannot be ruled out.

    From the immune system.

    Incoli - redness of the conjunctiva and / or a slight burning sensation in the eye. In most cases, these symptoms are short-lived.

    Often eye discomfort, eye irritation.

    Sometimes: keratitis, conjunctivitis, blurred vision, photophobia, eye edema, eye redness, foreign body sensation, increased lacrimation, dry eyes, eye pain, itching, eyelid edema.

    In rare cases (from 1/10 000 to 1/1 000), deposits on the cornea are possible, especially if there is a history of corneal diseases.

    There are reports that, with topical application, reactions such as toxic epidermal necrolysis, Stevens-Johnson syndrome have very rarely occurred. A causal relationship with Floxal®, eye drops in relation to such manifestations has not been established.

    On the part of the digestive tract: rarely, boredom.

    Skin and subcutaneous tissue disorders: rarely - facial edema, periorbital edema.

    Serious, sometimes fatal, hypersensitivity reactions, sometimes after the first dose, have been observed with systemic quinolones.

    Interaction with other medicinal products and other types of interactions

    It is still unknown. Preparation interaction studies conducted with systemic

    the use of ofloxacin, showed that the clearance of metabolites of caffeine and theophylline slightly depends on ofloxacin.

    Storage conditions
