    Product description

    Gastrotop is an esophagoprotective agent, the action of which is aimed at stopping cases of heartburn (reflux) and regenerating damaged esophageal epithelium during esophagitis.

    Active ingredients

    • in combination with alginate, the polysaccharides contained in Opuntia ficus-indica exhibit mucoadhesive properties on the mucous membrane of the esophagus and stomach, thus protecting the esophagus and stomach from irritating gastric juice;
    • salts in combination with the alginate and polysaccharides of Opuntia ficus-indica form a raft, which prevents the reflux of stomach contents into the esophagus;
    • regeneration of the epithelial layer of the esophageal mucosa occurs due to the content of biophenols in the leaves of OLEA EUROPAEA (L.), which have an anti-inflammatory (by suppressing the activity of pro-inflammatory cytokines) effect;
    • biophenols OLEA EUROPAEA (L.) are also hydrogen donors, which react with peroxide, converting the latter into water and oxygen. Pyroxide is an activator of oxidative stress that causes the death of healthy cells in the esophagus;
    • due to the presence of caffeic acid and hydroxytyrosol in the molecular composition of the OLEA EUROPAEA (L.) extract, it has a pronounced antioxidant activity for reactive oxygen and nitrogen species, as well as a chelating effect (binds metal ions, such as iron and copper, thereby blocking the action of dangerous oxidative cycles such as the Fenton reaction);
    • bioactive substances in the stems of the Opuntia ficus-indica cactus have powerful antioxidative and pro-apoptotic effects due to a decrease in COX-2 expression, an increase in Bax concentration and a decrease in Bcl-2. What contributes to the apoptosis of atypical cells;
    • Mallow (Malva sylvestris L.) reduces the sensitivity of nerve endings, thereby reducing visceral pain.

    Mode of application

    Adults are advised to take 1 chewable tablet after main meals and 1 in the evening at bedtime.

    Composition

    A mixture of Indian Opuntia stem extracts (OPUNTIA FICUS-INDICA - 33.5%) and European olive leaves (OLEA EUROPAEA (L.) - 24%) with a total

    polysaccharides only 15% -100 mg;

    sodium alginate 50 mg;

    potassium bicarbonate 10 mg;

    calcium carbonate 10 mg;

    Mallow leaf extract 50 mg.
