    Product description 

    Film-coated tablets Glemont are shown::
    • as an additional treatment of bronchial asthma in patients with persistent mild and moderate asthma, which is insufficiently controlled by inhaled GCS, as well as in case of insufficient clinical control of asthma with short-acting β-agonists, used if necessary;
    • as an alternative method of treatment instead of low doses of inhaled corticosteroids for patients with persistent mild asthma who have not recently had severe asthma attacks requiring oral corticosteroids, as well as for those patients who have been found to be intolerant to inhaled corticosteroids;
    • as the prevention of asthma, the dominant component of which is exercise-induced bronchospasm;
    • to relieve symptoms of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis.

    Compound

    Active substance: montelukast;
    1 coated tablet contains montelukast sodium equivalent to montelukast 10 mg;
    Excipients: microcrystalline cellulose, lactose, croscarmellose sodium, hydroxypropyl cellulose, magnesium stearate, yellow opadry (hypromellose, hydroxypropyl cellulose, titanium dioxide (E 171), yellow iron oxide (E 172), carnauba wax, red iron oxide (E172)).

    Contraindications

    Hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation.

    Mode of application

    The preparation is intended for use in adults and children over 15 years of age.
    For patients with asthma and allergic rhinitis (seasonal and year-round), 1 tablet 10 mg 1 time per day. For the treatment of asthma or asthma in combination with seasonal allergic rhinitis in adults and children over 15 years of age, the recommended dose is 1 tablet 10 mg 1 time per day, in the evening. To relieve the symptoms of allergic rhinitis, the time of admission is selected individually.
    The dosage of the preparation is the same for male and female patients.

    Application features

    Montelukast can be taken during pregnancy only when, in the opinion of the doctor, the expected benefit to the mother outweighs the possible risk to the fetus.
    Children
    Applied to children aged 15 years and over. Children under 15 years of age should use the preparation in the form of chewable tablets with an appropriate dosage.
    Drivers
    Montelukast is not expected to affect the patient's ability to drive vehicles or other machinery. However, drowsiness or dizziness has been reported very rarely.

    Overdose

    There is no information on the treatment of an overdose with montelukast. In chronic asthma studies, montelukast was prescribed at doses up to 200 mg / day to adults for 22 weeks, and in short-term studies up to 900 mg / day for about one week, with no clinically significant adverse reactions.
    Treatment is symptomatic.

    Interaction

    Montelukast can be used with other preparations for the prevention or long-term treatment of asthma. When studying preparation interactions, the recommended clinical dose of montelukast did not have a significant clinical effect on the pharmacokinetics of the following preparations: theophylline, prednisone, prednisolone, oral contraceptives (ethinylestradiol / norethindrone 35/1), terfenadine, digoxin and warfarin.
