Grinterol capsules are used for the following indications:
Active substance: ursodeoxycholic acid;
1 hard capsule contains 250 mg of ursodeoxycholic acid;
Excipients: corn starch, silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate;
Capsule (body and lid): titanium dioxide (E 171), gelatin.
The capsules should be swallowed whole with a liquid. It is necessary to observe the regularity of reception.
The time of application of 250 mg capsules for primary biliary cirrhosis can be unlimited.
In patients with primary biliary cirrhosis, it is rare at the beginning of treatment that clinical symptoms may worsen, for example, itching may increase. In this case, the treatment should be continued, taking 1 capsule 250 mg per day, after which the dose should be gradually increased (increasing the daily dose by 1 capsule every week) until the prescribed dosage regimen is reached.
Pregnant
Grinterol ® should not be used during pregnancy, unless absolutely necessary.
Children
For use in children aged 6 to 18 years.
Drivers
No effect on the ability to drive or use other machinery was observed.
In cases of overdose, diarrhea is possible. Other symptoms of overdose are unlikely, since the absorption of ursodeoxycholic acid decreases with increasing dose, and therefore most of it is excreted in the faeces.
If diarrhea occurs, the dose should be reduced; if diarrhea persists, treatment should be discontinued.
There is no need for specific measures. The effects of diarrhea should be treated symptomatically, with fluid and electrolyte balance restored.
From the gastrointestinal tract. In clinical studies, there have been frequent reports of pasty stools or diarrhea with prolonged treatment with ursodeoxycholic acid.
From the hepatobiliary system. Calcification of gallstones is very rare during treatment with ursodeoxycholic acid.
Hypersensitivity reactions. Allergic reactions, including rash, urticaria, are very rare.
Extragenic hormones, as well as preparations to reduce the concentration of cholesterol in the blood, can increase the secretion of cholesterol by the liver, and thus contribute to the formation of gallstones, is the opposite effect of ursodeoxycholic acid used to dissolve them.
