1 g of ointment contains: active substances: urea 100 mg, salicylic acid 50 mg and excipients: polysorbate 40, sorbitan trioleate, Simulsol 165, glycerol, white petrolatum.
Urea has a keratolytic effect, which leads to the exfoliation of the stratum corneum. It also contributes to the softening of excessively calloused layers of the epidermis, and also renews the protective coat of the skin, which significantly reduces the reverse water loss through the skin layers. Salicylic acid causes exfoliation of epidermal cells. Its effect is two-way. It consists in reducing the adhesion of cells by dissolving the intercellular substance and reducing the pH in the stratum corneum, which promotes hydration and softens the epidermis.
For use on the skin. Rub the ointment into the affected areas of the skin 1-2 times a day. Use for several or a dozen or so days, introduce breaks in the case of longer use.
