Product description
Hascosept is a lozenge medicine that is used to treat the symptoms of oropharyngitis topically. The active substance of Hascosept is benzydamine, it has anti-inflammatory, analgesic, local anesthetic and disinfectant properties. After topical administration, the drug is well absorbed, reaching high concentrations in inflammatory tissues.
Hascosept is presented as round lozenges with a lemon-honey flavor.
Indications
Hascosept lemon-honey flavor is used to treat complaints and symptoms (pain, redness, swelling) associated with inflammation of the mouth and throat. The drug is intended to be sucked.
Composition
1 tablet contains:
Active substance: benzydamine hydrochloride 3 mg.
Excipients: isomalt (E 953), acesulfame potassium (E 950), citric acid monohydrate, levomenthol, lemon flavor, honey flavor, quinoline yellow (E 104).
Action
Anti-inflammatory, analgesic, local anesthetic and disinfectant.
Dosage
Adults and children over 6 years of age: one tablet 3 times a day.
The lozenge should be sucked slowly, not chewed or swallowed.
Do not use more than the recommended dose.
Continuous treatment should not exceed 7 days.
In children 6 to 11 years of age, the drug should be used under adult supervision.
Contraindications
Hascosept should not be used:
in children under 6 years of age,
during pregnancy and breastfeeding,
in case of allergy to the active substance or any of the other ingredients.
Storage
Keep the drug out of the sight and reach of children.
Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to throw away medicines no longer required. Such behavior will help to protect the environment.
Side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Uncommon (less than 1 in 100 people):
skin reactions due to photosensitivity.
Rare (less than 1 in 1000 people):
burning sensation or dry mouth.
Very rare (less than 1 in 10,000 people):
laryngospasm.
Not known (frequency cannot be estimated from the available data):
premature closure of the ductus arteriosus in the fetus,
allergic reaction (hypersensitivity),
severe allergic reaction (anaphylactic shock) with symptoms such as difficulty in breathing, chest pain or tightness and / or dizziness / fainting, severe itching of the skin or protruding lumps on the skin, swelling of the face, lips, tongue and / or ) the throat; such a reaction may be life-threatening,
oral hypoaesthesia (local loss of sensitivity in the oral lining).
Interactions
Tell the doctor or pharmacist about all the drugs that the patient is taking now or recently, and about the drugs that the patient is planning to take.
Warnings and Precautions
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using Hascosept Peppermint.
It is not recommended to use the drug if you are allergic to acetylsalicylic acid (aspirin) or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).
The drug should be used with caution in patients with a history of bronchial asthma, as it may cause shortness of breath.
In some patients, ulcers in the mouth and throat may be just a symptom of another serious disease process.
If the symptoms worsen or do not disappear after 3 days of using the drug, contact your doctor.
Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the carton.
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
