It is used to treat recurrent cold sores on the lips and face caused by the herpes simplex virus in adults. It can only be used in patients with a history of herpes simplex infection.
1 tablet contains 200 mg of acyclovir and excipients: microcrystalline cellulose, povidone K30, sodium carboxymethyl starch (type A), magnesium stearate.
The preparation contains the active substance (acyclovir), a synthetic antiviral preparation that inhibits the multiplication of viruses of the Herpes group.
Oral, 200 mg five times a day, every 4 hours (with a night break), for 5 days.
In the case of recurrent infections, it is especially important to start treatment in the period preceding the appearance of the prodrugs, i.e. itching, burning, feeling tense or just after the first lesions appear.
Allergy to any component of the preparation, impaired kidney function, use of other preparations that may damage the kidneys, reduced immunity, do not use in children and adolescents under 18 years of age and in people over 65 years of age, consult with with a doctor or pharmacist, in the case of particularly severe recurrent cold sores, frequent or long-lasting flares of herpes with more severe clinical symptoms.
