Hydrocortison-pos eye ointment is indicated for:

sympathetic ophthalmia, postoperative irritation;
restoration of the transparency of the cornea after keratitis, (chemical) burn;
suppression of neovascularization.
Structure
Active ingredient: 1 g of ointment contains 25 mg of hydrocortisone acetate;
Excipients: white soft paraffin, mineral oil, lanolin.
Contraindications
hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients of the drug;
epithelial herpetic keratitis or other viral diseases of the eye;
bacterial eye infections;
wounds and ulcerative lesions of the cornea;
open and closed glaucoma;
ocular tuberculosis or fungal infections of the eye.
Mode of application
Put a strip of ointment about 1 cm long into the conjunctival sac several times a day. Usually, the duration of treatment should not exceed 2 weeks. Depending on the clinical picture, the effectiveness of treatment should be periodically monitored in order to determine the advisability of prolonging or changing therapy.
When applying eye ointment, avoid contact of the tip of the tube with the eye or skin.
Application features
Pregnant
For pregnant women, the drug should be prescribed with caution after a careful assessment of the benefits and risks of such use.
Children
There is no experience of using the drug in children.
Drivers
After applying hydrocortisone acetate ophthalmic ointment, vision may temporarily deteriorate due to the formation of a film on the cornea, which leads to a decrease in the reaction rate when driving or using machinery.
Overdose
With proper use, overdose or intoxication is not expected. So far, there have been no cases of overdose of drugs containing hydrocortisone. So, there is no information about the specific symptoms of an overdose and its treatment.
Side effects
Long-term use of ophthalmic preparations containing corticosteroids can cause irreversible cataract formation and a temporary increase in intraocular pressure in some patients.
Eye ointments containing hydrocortisone slow the healing of the damaged cornea. Cases of the development of hypersensitivity reactions, including itching, burning, short-term blurred vision, as well as contact dermatitis, dermatoconjunctivitis and eczema of the eyelids, are associated with the use of such drugs.
Interaction
When used simultaneously with other topical ophthalmic preparations, a 15-minute interval should be maintained between applications, with hydrocortisone acetate ointment applied last.
Storage conditions
Store at a temperature not exceeding 25 ° C.
Keep out of the reach of children.
Shelf life is 3 years.
