    Pharmacological properties

    Pharmacodynamic parameters. Framycetin is a broad-spectrum aminoglycoside antibiotic for topical use. exposure to framycetin disrupts the synthesis of proteins vital for the functioning of the bacterial cell, which leads to the death of the microorganism.
    Topical therapy with framycetin creates concentrations that have a bactericidal effect aimed at both gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms - causative agents of infections of the upper respiratory tract.
    The sensitivity to framycetin of corynebacteria, Branhamella catarrhalis, methicillin-sensitive staphylococci, acinetobacteria (mainly Acinetobacter baumanii), E. coli, campylobacter, representatives of the genus citrobacter (Citroesbacter freundii, , proteoses (Proteus mirabilis, Proteus vulgaris, Morganella morganii, Providencia rettgeri); Klebsiella, Salmonella, Shigella, Yersinia and Serrata are also sensitive.
    There is a moderately pronounced activity of framycetin against the causative agents of pasteurellosis.
    Framycetin is resistant to enterococci, streptococci, methicillin-resistant staphylococci (more hospital strains), Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Nocardia asteroides, flavobacteria, Alcaligenes denitrificans, Providencia stuartii, burkholderias, mycilliopathies, Stenotrophiliaceae, which are not required for the presence of mycosis, Stenotrophilia oxygen.

    Indications

    Diseases of the upper respiratory tract of an infectious and inflammatory nature (as part of a combination treatment): rhinitis, rhinopharyngitis, sinusitis (in the case of intact walls of the paranasal sinuses); inflammatory processes after surgery (therapy and prevention).

    Application

    1 injection in each nasal passage (adults - 4-6 times a day, children over the age of 1 year - 3 times a day). course - up to 10 days.
    When using, observe the vertical position of the bottle; the patient's head should be slightly tilted forward.

    Contraindications

    Hypersensitivity to framycetin (as well as other aminoglycosides) or other components of the preparation; children aged 1 year.

    Special instructions

    Do not use as a sinus rinse.
    In a situation of prolonged use of the preparation, the development of antibiotic-resistant strains of microorganisms is likely.

    Do not use during pregnancy and lactation.
