Lamisil® tablets are used for fungal infections of the skin and nails caused by Trichophyton (for example, T. rubrum, T. mentagrophytes, T. verrucosum, T. violaceum), Microsporum canis and Epidermophyton floccosum:

ringworm (trichophytosis of the smooth skin, trichophytosis of the perineum and dermatophytosis of the feet), when the localization of the lesion, the severity or prevalence of the infection determine the appropriateness of oral therapy;
onychomycosis.

Compound

The active substance is terbinafine (one tablet contains terbinafine hydrochloride 281.25 mg (in terms of terbinafine - 250 mg)).

Excipients: magnesium stearate, anhydrous colloidal silicon dioxide, hypromellose, sodium starch glycolate (type A), microcrystalline cellulose.

Contraindications

acute or chronic liver disease;

hypersensitivity to terbinafine or to any excipients of the preparation.

Mode of application

The preparation is intended for oral use. Tablets should be swallowed with water, preferably at the same time of day. The tablets can be taken with or without food.

Adults are prescribed one tablet of 250 mg 1 time per day.

The duration of treatment depends on the nature and severity of the disease. It should be ensured that the treatment is carried out within the proper period of time. Improper duration of treatment and / or irregular use of the preparation can lead to a recurrence of the infection. You should follow the rules of personal hygiene to prevent reinfection (from underwear, socks, shoes, etc.).

Recommended duration of treatment:

dermatophytosis of the feet (interdigital, plantar / "moccasin" type) - 2-6 weeks;
trichophytosis of smooth skin - 4 weeks;
trichophytosis of the perineum - from 2 to 4 weeks;
skin candidiasis - from 2 to 4 weeks;
trichophytosis of the scalp - 4 weeks;
onychomycosis caused by dermatophytes - 6-12 weeks. Longer treatment may be required for patients with slow nail growth.

Nail infections: in most cases, 6 weeks of treatment is sufficient.

Big toe infections: In most cases, 12 weeks of treatment is sufficient.

In the case of fungal infections of the nails, the clinical effect usually occurs several months after mycological cure.

Clinical experience with the use of the preparation "Lamisil®" in pregnant women is very limited, so it should not be used during pregnancy, except in cases of emergency.

A small amount of terbinafine passes into breast milk, so women who are breastfeeding should not receive treatment with Lamisil®.

Children

Data on the use of the preparation in children are limited, so its use is not recommended for this age group of patients.

Drivers

Relevant studies have not been conducted. Patients who develop dizziness and visual impairment as an undesirable effect on the use of the preparation should avoid driving vehicles and working with other mechanisms.

Overdose

There are several cases of overdose (ingestion of up to 5 g of the preparation). At the same time, headache, nausea, epigastric pain and dizziness were noted. Treatment recommended in case of overdose includes elimination of the preparation, primarily with activated charcoal and, if necessary, symptomatic supportive therapy.

Side effects

Disorders of metabolism and nutrition: very often (≥ 1/10) - loss of appetite.

Mental disorders: often (≥ 1/100, ≤ 1/10) - depression.

From the nervous system: very often (≥ 1/10) - headache; often (≥ 1/100, ≤ 1/10) - dizziness, dysgeusia to loss of taste. Impaired sense of taste, including loss of taste, usually recovers after discontinuation of the preparation.

On the part of the organs of vision: often (≥ 1/100, ≤ 1/10) - visual impairment.

From the gastrointestinal tract: very often (≥ 1/10) - a feeling of fullness in the stomach, dyspepsia, nausea, moderate abdominal pain, diarrhea.

On the part of the skin and subcutaneous tissue: very often (≥ 1/10) - rash, urticaria.

From the musculoskeletal system and connective tissue: very often (≥ 1/10) - arthralgia, myalgia.

Storage conditions

Store in the original packaging at a temperature not exceeding 30°C, out of the reach of children.
