Indications

Fungal lesions of the feet ("athlete's foot").

Application

Treatment of adults and adolescents over 15 years of age: single application.

Lamisil Uno is applied 1 time to both feet, even if fungal infections are visible only on one foot. This guarantees the destruction of fungi (dermatophytes), which may be in areas of the foot where the lesion is not visually noticeable.

After application to the skin of the foot, the preparation dries quickly and a colorless film forms. The tube contains enough medication to treat both feet. Depending on the size of the foot, not all the contents of the tube may be used for processing.

Before applying Lamisil Uno, wash both feet and dry the skin thoroughly; wash and dry hands; remove the cap from the tube.

Application procedure of Lamisil Uno solution: therapy consists of 1 procedure; the preparation should be applied to both feet. Before proceeding with the processing of the second foot, it is necessary to complete the processing of the first; it is necessary to use approximately ½ of the tube for the treatment of each foot, but at the same time take into account that such an amount of the preparation should be applied to cover the required surface of the skin; apply the preparation on each foot with your hands: starting the procedure on the interdigital areas, apply a thin layer evenly between the fingers and around them over their entire surface, as well as on the sole and lateral parts of the foot at a height of up to 1.5 cm; you need to process the other foot in the same way, even if the skin on it looks healthy; do not reapply the preparation to the treated skin. Do not rub the preparation into the skin; after application, allow the solution to dry for 1–2 minutes until a film forms; close the tube with a cap and discard the product that remains unused. You can not save the remains of the preparation and transfer it to other persons; wash your hands after the procedure.

A decrease in the severity of clinical symptoms after 1 procedure usually occurs within a few days, however, it may take up to 4 weeks for the skin to fully recover.

Lamisil Uno has long-lasting protective properties. Only a minority of patients with athlete's foot (1 out of 8) relapse or re-infect 3 months after initiation of therapy.

If signs of improvement are not noticeable 1 week after the start of treatment, treatment tactics should be reconsidered.

For best results, you should refrain from washing the treatment area for 24 hours after applying Lamisil Uno. It is recommended to apply the preparation after taking a shower or bath and wash the feet at the same time the next day.

Dry skin thoroughly without rubbing. Care must be taken not to damage the affected area, even if the patient feels itchy, as this can cause further damage to the skin, delay healing, and cause infection to spread.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to terbinafine or components that are part of the preparation. you can not prescribe the preparation during breastfeeding. children under the age of 15 due to lack of clinical experience.

Side effects

Undesirable effects include mild and temporary manifestations in the area where Lamisil Uno is applied. extremely rarely allergic reactions can develop.

Skin and subcutaneous tissue disorders: rarely (1/10,000, including isolated cases) - allergic reactions such as rash, itching, bullous dermatitis or urticaria.

General disorders: infrequently (1/1000, 1/100) - local reactions on the treated area, such as dryness and irritation of the skin or a burning sensation.

Lamisil uno should not be used if the patient has experienced hypersensitivity to any of the components of the preparation (see the list of ingredients).

Lamisil Uno is for external use only. Avoid contact with skin and eyes or other damaged areas other than those to be treated, as the preparation may cause irritation. In case of accidental contact with eyes, rinse thoroughly with running water. If the discomfort does not disappear, you should consult a doctor. It is also required to avoid getting the preparation into the mouth (do not swallow!).

In very rare cases of allergic reactions to the preparation, the film should be removed with an organic solvent such as denatured alcohol, the skin of the feet should be washed with warm soapy water and then washed off. Next, you need to lubricate the feet with a softening cream. If the symptoms do not disappear, you should consult a doctor.

It is not recommended to use Lamisil Uno in chronic hyperkeratic plantar athlete's foot.

Use in elderly patients. There is no evidence that the treatment of elderly patients requires the use of the preparation in other doses. There were no cases of other side effects in this category of patients.

During pregnancy and breastfeeding. In studies conducted on animals, teratogenic and embryotoxic properties of terbinafine have not been identified. There are no data on the effect of terbinafine on fetal development. However, since there is no clinical experience with the use of Lamisil Uno in pregnant women, it should only be used if the benefit outweighs the potential risk to the fetus.

Terbinafine is excreted in breast milk, so the preparation should not be given to women who are breastfeeding.

Influence on the ability to drive vehicles and work with mechanisms. External use of Lamisil Uno does not affect the ability to drive vehicles or work with mechanisms.

Application in children. The action of Lamisil Uno in pediatric practice has not been studied. Therefore, it is not recommended to use the preparation for the treatment of children over the age of 15 years.

Interactions

There are no data on interactions with other preparations.

Overdose

It is unlikely, since the preparation is produced in the form of a monodose, is intended for external use, and 1 tube contains the required amount of the preparation for only 1 procedure. in case of accidental ingestion of the contents of the tube (40 mg terbinafine), a much smaller effect is possible compared to taking a 250 mg lamisil tablet (as an oral dose). however, if the contents of several tubes are swallowed, the same side effects that are observed when taking an excessive dose of lamisil tablets (including headache, nausea, epigastric pain and dizziness) can be expected.
