    • otolaryngology: in the case of treatment of nosebleeds before electrocaustics, septum resection and resection of nasal polyps; also apply before tonsillectomy to suppress the gag reflex and anesthetize the injection site; as additional anesthesia before opening a peritonsillar abscess or before puncturing the maxillary sinus; anesthesia before flushing the maxillary sinus;
    • endoscopic and instrumental studies: anesthesia of the pharynx before the introduction of various tubes through the nose or mouth (gastroduodenal probe, Sengstaken probe); replacement of the tracheotomy tube;
    • obstetrics and gynecology: perineal anesthesia for episiotomy; removal of seams; anesthesia of the operating field during vaginal or cervical surgeries;
    • dermatology: anesthesia of the skin and mucous membranes for minor surgical interventions.

    Compound

    The active ingredient is lidocaine (1 bottle contains 3.8 g of lidocaine; one dose contains 4.8 mg of lidocaine).
    Excipients: ethanol 96%, propylene glycol, peppermint oil.

    Contraindications

    hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation, as well as to other amide local anesthetic preparations;
    in dentistry, the use of the preparation is contraindicated before using plaster because of the danger of aspiration.

    Mode of application

    For external use.
    Remove the cap, attach the metering valve and before the first use fill the bottle pump with the solution (press the pump several times until the aerosol appears in the air).
    If the spray bottle has not been used for a long time, your pump may need to be refilled.
    The dose of the preparation depends on the indications and the size of the surface to be anesthetized.
    Each time one portion of the spray is sprayed, 4.8 mg of lidocaine (one dose) is thrown onto the surface.
    In order to avoid high plasma concentrations, it is important to use the lowest dose that produces a satisfactory effect.
    Indicative doses for various indications (dose - number of clicks):
    dentistry - 1-3;
    maxillofacial surgery - 1-4;
    otolaryngology - 1-4;
    endoscopy - 2-3;
    obstetrics - 15-20;
    gynecology - 4-5;
    dermatology - 1-3.
    Usually 1-2 sprays are sufficient, although in obstetrics 15-20 sprays or more are used (maximum dose - 40 sprays / 70 kg body weight).
    Using a cotton swab soaked in this preparation, the preparation can be applied to large surfaces.
    Application for children: in dentistry or maxillofacial surgery spray "Lidocaine" can be applied to children by applying with a swab, which avoids the risk of inhalation of the preparation and burning sensation, which usually acts as a side effect of the preparation. Children under 2 years of age can use the preparation in the same way. The preparation is not recommended for local anesthesia before tonsillectomy and adenotomy in children under 8 years of age. By suppressing the pharyngeal reflex and reaching the larynx and trachea (risk of aspiration), lidocaine suppresses the cough reflex, which can lead to bronchopneumonia.

    Application features

    Pregnant
    Strictly controlled clinical studies of the safety of the preparation during pregnancy have not been conducted, however, "Lidocaine" was used for a long time, and it did not harm the patient's health. In preclinical studies, there was no toxic effect of lidocaine on fetal development. In the absence of a safer method of treatment, spray "Lidocaine" can also be used during pregnancy.
    The preparation is excreted into breast milk, however, when using usual therapeutic doses, the allocated amount of the preparation is so scanty that it does not harm a baby who is breastfeeding.
    Drivers
    Considering that in sensitive patients, when using the preparation, side reactions from the central nervous system (agitation, depression, nervousness, dizziness, drowsiness, spasms, loss of consciousness, respiratory paralysis) may occur, while taking the preparation, you should refrain from driving and other works requiring concentration of attention.

    Overdose

    Symptoms: increased sweating, pallor of the skin, dizziness, headache, blurred vision, tinnitus, diplopia, decreased blood pressure, bradycardia, arrhythmia, drowsiness, chills, numbness of the extremities, anxiety, convulsions, shock, methemoglobinemia.
    Treatment
    If necessary, provide fresh air, oxygen and / or artificial respiration.
    Overdose convulsions should be treated with succinylcholine (1 mg / kg body weight) and / or diazepam (1 mg / kg body weight intravenously). Because succinylcholine can cause respiratory arrest, it should only be handled by professionals experienced in endotracheal intubation and in the treatment of respiratory arrest patients. You can also use short-acting barbiturates, thiopental. When symptoms of the cardiovascular system appear (bradycardia, conduction disturbances), atropine (0.5-1 mg intravenously) and sympathomimetics should be prescribed. With ventricular fibrillation and cardiac arrest, immediate resuscitation is indicated.

    Side effects

    Local effects: when using lidocaine, a burning sensation may occur, which disappears after the onset of the anesthetic effect (within one minute); at the site of application of the preparation, transient erythema, edema and decreased sensitivity may be observed.
    Allergic reactions: including: skin rash, itching, urticaria, angioedema, bronchospasm, in extremely severe cases - shock; in case of hypersensitivity reactions, the preparation should be discontinued.
    Systemic effects: if this preparation is used as directed, the incidence of systemic effects is extremely low, since the amount of active substance that can reach the circulation is very small. When using high doses and in the case of rapid absorption of lidocaine or with increased sensitivity, idiosyncrasy or decreased tolerance, the following side effects may develop:
    from the central nervous system: agitation, depression, nervousness, dizziness, drowsiness, spasms, loss of consciousness, respiratory paralysis;
    from the cardiovascular system: arterial hypotension, myocardial infarction, bradycardia, cardiac arrest.

    Storage conditions

    Store at a temperature not exceeding 25 ° C, out of the reach of children.
    The shelf life is 5 years.
