    Product description

    Loxidol is an NSAID and antirheumatic agent for the short-term symptomatic treatment of acute attacks of rheumatoid arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis when other routes of administration cannot be used.

    Compound

    1 ampoule (1.5 ml) of solution for injection contains meloxicam 15 mg;
    excipients: meglumine, glycofurol, poloxamer 188, glycine, sodium chloride, sodium hydroxide, water for injection.

    Contraindications

    hypersensitivity to the active substance or other excipients of the preparation;
    hypersensitivity to active substances with a similar effect, such as NSAIDs, acetylsalicylic acid, meloxicam should not be used in patients who develop asthma symptoms, nasal polyps, angioedema or urticaria after taking acetylsalicylic acid or other NSAIDs;
    gastrointestinal bleeding or perforation associated with previous NSAID therapy in history;
    a history of active or recurrent ulcer / bleeding (two or more separate confirmed cases of ulcer or bleeding).

    Mode of application

    The preparation should be used in a dose of 15 mg once a day (1 injection).
    Do not exceed 15 mg / day.
    Treatment should be limited to 1 injection at the beginning of therapy with a maximum duration of up to 2-3 days in justified exceptional cases (i.e. when other routes of application are not possible).

    Application features

    The preparation should not be used to treat patients requiring acute pain relief.
    If there is no improvement after several days of using the preparation, the clinical benefits of the treatment should be re-evaluated.
    Pregnant
    During the first and second trimester of pregnancy, the preparation should not be used, unless absolutely necessary. Contraindicated in the third term of pregnancy.
    Children
    The preparation is contraindicated in children under 18 years of age.
    Drivers
    There are no special studies on the effect of meloxicam on the ability to drive vehicles or other mechanisms. However, based on the pharmacodynamic profile and adverse reactions observed, meloxicam has no or little effect on the indicated activity. However, patients who have experienced visual impairments, including blurred vision, dizziness, drowsiness, vertigo or other disorders of the central nervous system, are advised to refrain from driving vehicles or other mechanisms.

    Overdose

    Symptoms of acute NSAID overdose are usually limited to lethargy, drowsiness, nausea, vomiting, and epigastric pain, which are generally reversible with maintenance therapy. Gastrointestinal bleeding may occur. Severe poisoning can lead to hypertension, acute renal failure, liver dysfunction, respiratory depression, coma, seizures, cardiovascular failure, and cardiac arrest. Anaphylactoid reactions have been reported with the therapeutic use of NSAIDs, and can also be observed in case of overdose.

    Side effects

    On the part of the blood and lymphatic system: anemia, deviations in blood test parameters from the norm (including a change in the number of leukocytes), leukopenia, thrombocytopenia.
    From the immune system: allergic reactions, anaphylactic shock, anaphylactic reactions, anaphylactoid reactions, including shock.
    From the side of the psyche: mood changes, nightmares, confusion, disorientation, insomnia.
    From the nervous system: headache, dizziness, drowsiness.

    Storage conditions

    Store at a temperature not exceeding 25 ° C in its original packaging, out of the reach of children.
