LUMIXA is an antioxidant ophthalmic lubricant solution without preservatives.

LUMIXA is an ophthalmic antioxidant and moisturizer based on hyaluronic acid sodium crolink, liposomes and crocin.

For all types and degrees of dry eye (dyslacrimia and / or hypolacrimia), with rapid symptom relief.

For the symptomatic treatment of dry eye disease.

As a tear substitute to protect the cornea after surgery, eye injuries or in case of environmental or visual stress.

Crocin is the only photoactivated carotenoid derived from saffron. Has a neuroprotective effect. Protects photoreceptors from the damaging effects of blue light, which is a risk factor for macular degeneration. Crocin stimulates the metabolic processes of the lens, protecting its tissues from damage by free radicals.

Liposomes (<200 μm) are microspheres formed by a single layer of phospholipids, the composition of which mimics cell membranes; the main component is phosphatidylcholine. The use of liposomes provides the following advantages: the constituents of liposomes (phospholipids) are biocompatible and do not have toxic or allergic effects; the ability to store crocin; long-term stability of crocin, which is protected from the effects of denaturing enzymes and media (pH and water).

Cross-linked hyaluronic acid. LUMIXA contains "cross-linked hyaluronic acid" made by bacterial fermentation with Streptococcus zooepidermicus chemically combined with 1-ethyl-3- (dimethylaminopropyl) carbodiimide hydrochloride (EDC). The use of EDC promotes crosslinking by activating the carboxylic function of hyaluronic acid to form complex ester bonds within and between chains.

Due to the synergy between sodium crosslink hyaluronate and liposomes, Lumix solution is indicated for all types of dry eyes caused by hypolacremia (insufficient production of tears) or dyslacremia (excessive evaporation of tears).

The antioxidant activity of crocin helps to limit damage to the surface of the eye caused by free radicals formed in the case of:

dry eyes;

mechanical stress (diagnostic and surgical ophthalmic procedures, eye injuries);

environmental stress (air conditioning, dry or polluted air, high ambient temperatures, etc.);

visual stress (long-term work with a computer, unfavorable lighting conditions, etc.).

Instill 1-2 drops in each eye one or more times a day or as directed by a doctor.

Lumix solution can be used without removing contact lenses.
