Maalox is a combined antacid preparation for the treatment of heartburn and acid regurgitation in adults and children over 15 years of age.

The preparation is a well-balanced combination of hydrated aluminum oxide and magnesium hydroxide, protects the mucous membrane of the esophagus, stomach and duodenum. Magnesium and aluminum hydroxides are antacids that neutralize excess hydrochloric acid, which is part of gastric juice, thereby reducing the burning sensation in the stomach.

Treatment of heartburn and acid reflux in adults and children over 15 years of age.

Severe forms of renal failure (since this preparation contains magnesium), hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation. Alzheimer's disease, recurrent constipation, chronic diarrhea, severe abdominal pain of unspecified origin, hypophosphatemia.

Method of administration and dosage

Adults and children over 15 years of age: 1-2 tablets each for heartburn or acid reflux. Method of administration - oral. The tablet should be sucked or chewed completely. The maximum number of doses per day is 6 doses. Do not take more than 12 tablets per day.

The duration of the course of treatment without consulting a doctor should not exceed 10 days.

There is no experience of using the preparation in children under 15 years of age.

Application during pregnancy or lactation

Pregnancy. You should not take Maalox® for a long time and in large doses.

Lactation. The use of combined preparations containing aluminum and magnesium salts is allowed.
