escription
Mitren tablets are used in the treatment of endometriosis.
Structure
The active ingredient is dienogest (one tablet contains dienogest 2 mg).
Excipients: lactose, monohydrate; corn starch; povidone K-30; magnesium stearate.
Contraindications
The preparation "Mitren" should not be used in the presence of any of the following conditions or diseases. This information is based in part on the use of other progestogen-only products. If any of these conditions or diseases occurs for the first time during the use of the preparation "Mitren", it should be stopped immediately.
Active venous thromboembolism.
A history of arterial or cardiovascular disease (eg, myocardial infarction, cerebrovascular event, coronary artery disease).
Diabetes mellitus with vascular lesions.
A history of severe liver disease or a history of liver disease until liver function tests return to normal.
History of liver tumors (benign or malignant).
Known or suspected sex hormone-dependent malignant tumors.
Vaginal bleeding of unknown etiology.
Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the components of the preparation.
Mode of application
For oral administration.
Take one tablet daily without interruption in taking the preparation at about the same time with a small amount of liquid. The tablets can be taken with or without food.
The tablets should be taken regularly, regardless of menstrual bleeding. As soon as the tablets from one package have run out, start taking the tablets from the next package without taking a break in the use of the preparation.
There is no experience in treating patients with endometriosis with dienogest for more than 15 months.
The preparation can be started on any day of the menstrual cycle.
The use of any hormonal contraceptives should be discontinued before starting therapy with Mitren. If contraception is needed, a non-hormonal method of preventing pregnancy (for example, a barrier method) should be additionally used.
Application features
Pregnant
"Mithren" is not recommended for pregnant women, since there is no need to treat endometriosis during pregnancy.
Treatment with dienogest during breastfeeding is not recommended.
Based on the available data, it can be argued that during treatment with dienogest, ovulation is inhibited in most patients. However, Mitren is not a contraceptive. If contraception is needed, a non-hormonal method of preventing pregnancy should be additionally used. Based on the available data, it can be argued that the menstrual cycle returns to normal within 2 months after discontinuation of dienogest treatment.
Children
The preparation "Mitren" is not indicated for use in children before the onset of menarche. There is evidence of the efficacy of dienogest in the treatment of endometriosis associated with pelvic pain in adolescents (12-18 years) with an overall favorable safety and tolerability profile. The physician should weigh the benefits of using dienogest and the possible risks of using dienogest for each adolescent.
Drivers
No effect was observed on the ability to drive vehicles and operate mechanisms in patients who took preparations containing dienogest.
Overdose
Acute toxicity studies conducted with dienogest did not indicate the risk of acute adverse reactions in the event of unintentional administration of several daily therapeutic doses. There are no specific antidotes. The use of 20-30 mg of dienogest per day (which is 10-15 times higher than the dose in the Mitren tablet) was very well tolerated for more than 24 weeks.
Side effects
Adverse reactions most often develop during the first months of using dienogest and disappear during treatment. Changes in bleeding patterns may occur, such as spotting, irregular bleeding, or amenorrhea.
Side effects most commonly reported during dienogest treatment include headache (9.0%), breast discomfort (5.4%), depressed mood (5.1%), and acne (5.1%) ...
Storage conditions
Store in its original packaging at a temperature not exceeding 25 ° C, out of the reach of children.
Shelf life is 3 years.
