    Product description

    Mucopect Control is a capsule medicine for adults, the active substance of which is carbocysteine, which belongs to a group of medicines called mucolytics. Carbocysteine ​​works by reducing the viscosity of phlegm, making it easier to cough up.
    Mucopect Control is used in the symptomatic treatment of respiratory diseases with excessive production of thick and sticky secretions.

    Indications

    Symptomatic treatment of respiratory diseases, accompanied by excessive secretion of thick and sticky mucus.

    Composition

    1 capsule contains:
    active ingredient: carbocysteine ​​375 mg,
    excipients: maize starch, pregelatinized maize starch and magnesium stearate, capsule shell: titanium dioxide (E171), yellow iron oxide (E172) and gelatin.

    Action

    Mucolytic - reduces the viscosity of the secretion, thus facilitating its expectoration.

    Dosage

    Always use this medicine exactly as described in the package leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
    Adults (including the elderly): The usual starting dose is 2 capsules 3 times a day.
    If symptoms decrease, the dose should be reduced to 1 capsule taken 4 times a day.
    During treatment, you should drink more fluids.
    Do not use the preparation at bedtime. The last dose should be given at least 4 hours before bedtime.
    Do not use the preparation for more than 4 to 5 days without the recommendation of a doctor. If you have the impression that the effect of the preparation is too strong or too weak, consult your doctor.

    Contraindications

    Hypersensitivity to carbocysteine ​​or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
    Ulcers in the stomach or intestine.

    Storage

    Keep the preparation out of the sight and reach of children, at a temperature below 30 ° C.

    Side effects

    Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
    Stop taking the medicine and consult a doctor immediately or go to the emergency room in a hospital if:
    you have experienced an allergic reaction which may include a rash, difficulty swallowing or breathing, swelling of your lips, face, throat or tongue
    has developed bleeding sores or blisters on the skin, including those around the lips, eyes, mouth, nose and genitals. You may also get flu-like symptoms and a fever. This may be the so-called "Stevens-Johnson syndrome",
    when you vomit you see blood or you pass black tarry stools.
    Check with your doctor or pharmacist if any of the following side effects get serious or last longer than a few days:
    vomiting.

    Interactions

    Tell the doctor or pharmacist about all the preparations taken by the patient now or recently, as well as about the preparations that the patient plans to take.
    You should not use antitussive preparations or preparations that reduce the secretion of bronchial mucus while using this preparation.

    Warnings and Precautions

    Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using this medicine if:
    • the patient is elderly,
    • a history of peptic ulcer disease
    • you are taking other medicines which are known to cause stomach bleeding.
    In the case of profuse purulent discharge and fever, as well as in the case of chronic bronchial or pulmonary disease, and in patients with a reduced capacity to expectorate, it is necessary to see a doctor who may prescribe other medications.
    Treatment of patients with bronchial asthma should be under careful medical supervision because of the possibility of bronchospasm. If this symptom occurs, the administration of the preparation should be discontinued immediately.
    Use in children and adolescents
    • The preparation is not recommended for children and adolescents.
    Pregnancy, breast-feeding and fertility
    • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor for advice before taking this medicine.
    • You should not take this medication in the first three months of pregnancy.
    • It is not known whether carbocysteine is excreted in human milk. The preparation should not be used during breastfeeding.
    • There are no data on the effect of carbocysteine on fertility.
    Driving vehicles and operating machinery
    • There is no information on the effects of carbocysteine on the ability to drive and use machines.
