Description
Product description
Normodipine tablets are used for the following indications:
arterial hypertension;
chronic stable angina pectoris;
vasospastic angina (Prinzmetal's angina).
Compound
The active substance is amlodipine (one tablet contains 10 mg of amlodipine (in the form of 13.889 mg of amlodipine besilate)).
Excipients: magnesium stearate, sodium starch glycolate (type A), anhydrous calcium hydrogen phosphate, microcrystalline cellulose.
Contraindications
Amlodipine is contraindicated in patients with the following conditions:
hypersensitivity to amlodipine, dihydropyridine derivatives or any other components of the drug;
severe arterial hypotension;
shock (including cardiogenic shock);
obstruction of the outflow tract of the left ventricle (for example, severe aortic stenosis);
hemodynamically unstable heart failure after acute myocardial infarction.
Mode of application
adults
In the case of hypertension and angina pectoris, the initial dose is 5 mg 1 time per day. Depending on the patient's individual response to treatment, this dose may be increased to a maximum of 10 mg per day.
Patients suffering from arterial hypertension, "Normodipine" is used in combination with thiazide diuretics, alpha-blockers, beta-blockers or an angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor. For patients who suffer from angina and do not respond to treatment with nitrates and / or adequate doses of beta-blockers, Normodipine can be used as monotherapy or in combination with other antianginal agents.
In the case of simultaneous administration of the drug with thiazide diuretics, beta-blockers and ACE inhibitors, dose adjustment is not required.
Children and adolescents aged 6 to 17 years with hypertension
The recommended starting dose for the treatment of hypertension in patients aged 6 to 17 years is 2.5 mg per day (in this case, another drug should be used) if blood pressure control is not achieved after 4 weeks of using the drug , the dose can be increased to 5 mg per day. The use of doses exceeding 5 mg per day for the treatment of pediatric patients has not been studied.
Application features
pregnant
The safety of amlodipine in pregnant women has not been established. Use during pregnancy is recommended only if there is no safe alternative, or if the disease of the mother poses a greater risk to the mother and fetus than treatment.
Amlodipine passes into breast milk. The proportion of the maternal dose received by the infant has been estimated with an interquarter range of 3-7%, with a maximum of 15%. The effect of amlodipine on infants is unknown. The decision to continue/stop breastfeeding or to continue/stop treatment with amlodipine should be made taking into account the benefit of breastfeeding to the baby and the benefit to the mother from treatment.
Reversible biochemical changes in the heads of spermatozoa have been reported in some patients receiving slow calcium channel blockers. Clinical data on the possible effect of amlodipine on fertility is limited.
Drivers
Amlodipine may affect the ability to drive or use machines in some way. If a patient who takes amlodipine experiences dizziness, headache, fatigue or nausea, they may affect the speed and quality of reactions. It is recommended to be careful at the initial stage of treatment.
Overdose
Symptoms
Available data suggest that a significant overdose can lead to excessive peripheral vasodilation with the development of reflex tachycardia. Cases of severe and persistent arterial hypotension, including those with the development of shock and death, have been described.
Treatment
Clinically significant hypotension caused by an overdose of amlodipine requires active measures aimed at maintaining the function of the cardiovascular system, including bringing the lower extremities into an elevated position, monitoring heart and lung function, control of circulating blood volume and diuresis.
To restore vascular tone and normalize blood pressure, in the absence of contraindications, it is possible to use vasoconstrictor drugs. To eliminate the effects of calcium channel blockade, intravenously inject calcium gluconate.
In some cases, gastric lavage may be effective. The appointment of activated charcoal to healthy volunteers at a dose of 10 mg immediately or within 2 hours after taking amlodipine led to a significant decrease in the absorption of the drug. Since amlodipine is largely bound to plasma proteins, hemodialysis is ineffective.
Side effects
Most often, during the treatment period, the following adverse reactions were observed: drowsiness, dizziness, headache, tachycardia, hot flashes, abdominal pain, nausea, swelling of the legs, swelling and fatigue.
Storage conditions
Store in the original packaging to protect from exposure to light at a temperature not exceeding 30 ° C, out of the reach of children.
Shelf life - 3 years.
