Ocusalin is a sterile, hypertonic sodium chloride solution (5%) intended for use in the eye, without preservatives, in single-dose packages (minims). Ocusalin, thanks to its osmotic properties, causes the resorption of excess water from the corneal tissues if it is swollen, which improves vision.
Swelling of the cornea of the eye. Ocusalin is used especially after eye surgeries (e.g. cataract surgery) as well as after diagnostic procedures (e.g. gonioscopy) if there is an osmotic imbalance in the corneal tissues.
Separate one single-dose container (minims). Make sure that the container is not damaged. Open the container by turning the upper, flat part (do not tear it off). Instill 3-5 times a day into the conjunctival sac of the eye showing changes. Do not touch the eye with the tip of the container. After instillation, slowly close the eye. The frequency of instillation and the period of use of the preparation should be determined with the ophthalmologist.
Sodium chloride, water for injections.
Do not use this medical device without a doctor's recommendation.
If the container is damaged, do not use it.
Do not touch the eye surface with the container during instillation.
To avoid the risk of contamination, do not touch anything with the opening of the container.
In case of corneal edema, contact lenses are contraindicated. If the use of contact lenses is necessary, they should be removed before instillation. They can be put on again after at least 15 minutes from instillation of the preparation.
If other eye drops are used simultaneously with Ocusalin, an ophthalmologist should be consulted. There should be an interval of at least 5 minutes between instillation of consecutive preparations.
