active ingredient: estriol; 1 g of cream contains estriol 1 mg; excipients: octyldodecanol, cetyl palmitate, glycerin, cetyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol, polysorbate 60, sorbitan stearate, lactic acid, chlorhexidine, sodium hydroxide, water.
     Dosage and administration
Ovestin contains only estrogen, so it can be used both in women with a preserved uterus and in women after hysterectomy.

    Dosage

At the beginning of treatment or while continuing treatment of symptoms of estrogen deficiency in postmenopausal women, a low effective dose should be used for the shortest possible period of time (see section "Peculiarities of use").
With atrophy of the lower genitourinary tract:
1 dose per day for the first weeks (up to a maximum of 4 weeks), followed by a gradual decrease to a maintenance dose (for example, a maximum of 1 dose 2 times a week), depending on the degree of symptom reduction.
For pre- and postoperative treatment of postmenopausal women with vaginal surgery:
1 dose of the preparation per day for 2 weeks before surgery; 1 dose 2 times a week for 2 weeks after surgery.
As an aid for diagnosis when obtaining an atrophic picture of a cervical smear:
1 dose of the preparation every other day for a week before taking the next smear.
In case of missing the next dose, the preparation should be administered immediately after the mention, if this did not happen on the day of the next dose. In the latter case, the missed dose should not be administered, and treatment should be continued according to the usual regimen.
DO NOT administer 2 DOSES IN THE SAME DAY.

    Mode of application

Ovestin cream must be inserted into the vagina using a calibrated applicator. Apply in the evening before bed.
1 dose of the preparation (applicator filled up to the ring mark) contains 0.5 g of Ovestinâ cream, which corresponds to 0.5 mg of estriol.
For women who are not on hormone replacement therapy or are transitioning from continuous use of a combination preparation for HRT, treatment with Ovestin can be started on any day. Women transitioning from a cyclic HRT regimen should begin treatment with Ovestin 1 week after completion of the cycle.
