Pedipur is in the form of a medicinal powder. The preparation contains the active ingredient methenamine, which releases formaldehyde upon contact with acid sweat. Formic aldehyde (methanal) is an organic chemical compound that weakens the activity of the sweat glands and inhibits the activity of bacteria, thanks to which it reduces sweat secretion and inhibits its decomposition by bacteria. Pedipur has a drying, bactericidal and astringent effect. Eliminates the unpleasant smell of sweat. The preparation is a thick, opaque, white powder suspension with a characteristic smell of methenamine.
Pedipur is used to treat excessive sweating of the feet and hands. For topical application to the skin of the feet and hands.
1 g of medicinal powder contains: active substance: 200 mg methenamine and excipients: zinc oxide, talc, 86% glycerol, purified water.
Bactericidal, drying, astringent, preventing excessive sweat and eliminating its unpleasant smell.
For cutaneous use only. Before use, the preparation should be shaken. Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the preparation is usually used: before using the preparation, wash the skin of the legs or hands thoroughly and dry it. Apply a small amount of the preparation on the skin of the legs and hands, rub and let dry. Use the preparation no more than 1-2 times a week. After improvement, the treatments can be used prophylactically every 14-20 days.
The preparation cannot be used on: open wounds, skin surfaces devoid of epidermis, ulcers, mucous membranes. Hypersensitivity to the ingredients of the preparation.
Keep out of the reach and sight of children, in a tightly closed container, at a temperature below 25 degrees Celsius.
The preparation has no influence on the ability to drive and use machines. The active substance in the preparation is unlikely to be harmful to an unborn child or pass into breast milk. As there are no adequate studies, the preparation should be used in pregnant and lactating women only after consulting a doctor, if the benefits outweigh the risks. If you get any side effects, talk to your doctor or pharmacist, including any possible side effects not listed in this leaflet. Pedipur can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Long-term use of the preparation may cause local allergic reactions of the skin on the legs and hands. If you experience any undesirable effects, you should inform your doctor or pharmacist about it, or you can also report it directly to the Department for Monitoring Adverse Effects of Medicinal Products, Office for Registration of Medicinal Products, Medical Devices and Biocidal Products.
Due to the risk of inactivation, do not use with oxidizing agents (potassium permanganate, nitrates), acids, acidic salts, carbonates (magnesium, calcium).
Use should be discontinued if irritation or redness of the skin occurs. Please contact your doctor. If you have used too much medicine, wash it off your skin with water and tell your doctor or pharmacist. In case of accidental ingestion of the preparation, rash, kidney and bladder irritation, haematuria, nausea and vomiting may occur. Do not use the preparation after the expiry date.
