    Indications

    For the short-term alleviation of symptoms associated with chronic or recurrent constipation in adults and children over 4 years of age.

    Composition

    Sodium picosulfate. 1 ml of Pikopil contains sodium picosulfate in an amount corresponding to 7.5 mg of anhydrous sodium picosulfate (1 ml = 15
    drops). Other ingredients: sodium benzoate, sorbitol, citric acid monohydrate, sodium citrate, water for injections.

    Action

    Pikopil belongs to the group of laxatives that are irritating. It works by stimulating bowel movements and increases the water and electrolyte content in the lumen of the colon.

    Dosage

    Unless your doctor tells you otherwise, the usual dose is:
    Adults: 8 to 12 drops (4 - 6 mg) at one time. Children and adolescents: Children over 6 years of age: 8 to 12 drops (4 - 6 mg) once. Children from 4 to 6 years of age: 6 drops (3 mg) once.

    Contraindications

    Hypersensitivity to any component of the product.

    Although I am at the testing stage, it has a basic advantage.
    Dosing in the form of drops is more practical, because you can adjust the dose of the drug as needed.
